- Plenty of people have theorized that Miguel O’Hara is wrong about canon events in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. I agree, but some of the evidence and conclusions miss the mark a little. Let the sweaty man yell about Spidey.

my least favorite thing is when people discuss the holes in miguel's theory as if it's an actual mistake made by the movie and not a deliberate point being made by the movie.
My problem isn't Miguel himself being wrong, but the fact that if the next movie proves him wrong the every other Spider person feels like an idiot then for just going along with his theory.
Something very out of charcter especially with how many people they could have left to die.
Exactly. They go as far to say it’s even stupid or a bad movie. it frustrates me.
I never noticed Spot’s music cue with the black hole engulfing Pav’s dimension, that’s so cool. It reminds me when I discovered that Miles’ theme is the Prowler’s theme in reverse in the first movie, symbolizing that Miles’ destiny has shifted yet still familiar.
In regards to "why are canon events so different", the answer is: there's always a man, always a city, always a lighthouse.
Still the most underrated youtube channel I've seen.
I think this classifies as a spoiler for the next movie
Good points, couldn't have said it better myself although miguel catching anomalies who don't really break they're canon or reality mean that miguel is breaking thst reality by making those people or things disappear and be kept in boxes indefinitely
It’s cool to see you talk about film. Another awesome vid.
Always here to support, broseph. (Also there's also only one L...)
Haven't seen the film yet so not gonna watch this, but I'll make sure to leave it on loop in the background for a bit cause I want to see you win.
This was a great analysis :3
great video I really like across the spiderverse, and Migel is a very good secondary villain.
Is a antagonist , not a villain bruh
@@Chanpool-6942 yeah yeah whatever smartass
Fantastic analysis.
i thought a lot about all those similarities between miles and miguel leading up to the movie's release, both being legacy heroes following in peter's footsteps and all that, and i kinda wish the movie had the time to delve a bit into that. it was already very stuffed and there's nothing i'd really want removed so i get why it's not there, but i really hope we delve more into that in the next movie. miguel's origin, the history of his universe, a lot of moviegoers don't know all these details and i feel like they're kinda important and would give those people a better perspective of the character.
My only problem with this theory is that clearly, many others should've seen holes in this concept before Miles did. I find it impossible to believe that Miguel found hundreds of Spider people together, and not one thought this was strangely inconsistent.
This is worse since it's clear Miguel is friends with Peter B. Parker and yet neither of them realize the flaws in Canon Events from each other's stories. My biggest flaw with Canon Events is that clearly Miguel should have poked holes in his concept. Note that he never stops one when going to another universe, he just takes over for his own dead self, this doesn't track since he didn't change anything about the story of that universe's Spider-Man, since he was already dead before he arrived.
The bigger problem is this is clearly debunked by Peter B Parker, he went to Earth-1610 after that universe's version of him died. And yet the universe did not die. Seeing that judging by Pete's daughter and Miles being older, he and Miguel have likely know each other for years after the events of the first movie, it is completely inconceivable that Peter and/or anyone else in ITSV never brings up the obvious inconsistency.
I feel like seeing a large amount of Spider people joining Miles and leaving Miguel's side once Miles questions him, would have done the film many favors, it would've characterized most of the Spiders as more intelligent people and would have made the scene where Miles somehow escapes from hundreds of them way more believable.
If they decide to go with the Miguel is coping angle for the 3rd movie I will be mostly fine with that, but even still, I think the idea of Canon Events in general was a creative crutch for the plot of this film and I kinda wished they fine tuned it a little more since I loved the great writing and pacing of the 1st movie.
I hope Beyond rectifies the problems here and corrects them with a plot that ties the trilogy together. Although to be honest with ATSV going through many creative issues mid development and the overworked animators and the ongoing WGA+SAG Strike, I am doubtful to say the least.
TLDR: Canon Events are dumb and most of the Spider Society are dumb and ITSV >>>> ATSV. Great video as usual, Doggifu!
