The calm voice worked well for her as she was smartly able to think about the solution to each answer between each convo.. Also the appropriate smile worked in her favour! We must notice that she suggested very common answer but her way of presenting them was the game changer.
It's just about your performance on the D-Day. Dnt buy into the idea of personality test being a test of your personality.
She is absolutely handle in interview and her voice is very clear and good impact on interview manner 👍👍

After reading your comment, I looked for it in the upsc marklist and it's true. After that, I checked for her interviews. But I couldn't find any! I wonder why...

This panel is so different from Drishti panel...i mean this panel is so friendly,humble etc but drishti panel is quite opposite...they throw such questions that will completely blow your mind
That is how real interviewers behave sometimes.
I watched a real upsc interview experience video of IFS Suyash chavan sir and he said that the interviewers purposely behave like that to check candidate's patience and tolerance.
Her calm voice in such a soothing manner.... it had a great calming effect on me... Congratulations. People like you truly deserve this success.

Apala Mishra is a best example of beauty with brain 🧠
Apala is not the only topper. She is a Co-Topper in the 2020 interviews. Shavya Goyal and Mohammad Javed too got 215 out of 275 this year. Also I din't find her interview extraordinary anywhere. Her mains marks too are just 816. She gave a lot of generic answers with some missing the target answers and made few grammatical errors too. Probably her above average looks(with mask) added to the 'girl bias in interviews' and her 1st preference to IFS had benefited her.
Perhaps she did good in main interview

Sir 🙏 I think it's interview in Hindi Thane batter fell in Indian students so because bhasa ka sidha asar padta hai hmare kirdar par jaise aap batter if Thane in sabdo ka aap Hindi Mai pryog karte hai tav jyada prbhab sill hota interview hmara desh ek Sanskriti sabhyta se bna desh hai aap logo ne interview english mi liya achhi bat hai bt note effective hmare desh ko age bdane k liye Hindi ko candra label par bolna utna hi jaruri h jitna aap apne bachhe ko bolna sikhate hai 😊😊

Still she scored really well, shows that board sees the personality rather than bookish knowledge.
It is indeed a personality test and not a test of knowledge. But we also have to keep in mind that this is only a mock interview.

Except for drishti panel interviews....none of the panel I have watched till now had started with the question of 'Introduce Yourself'....which one is correct in reality???

These IAS interviews are of Toppers are coming much later after the results, these are probably the scripted once, designed and planned for advertisement of coachings
But this looks like a genuine mock interview before real interview.

To check mind attentiveness, activeness, concentration to specific question, mins candidate ka dhyan distract to ni ho rha aur vo apne actual goal par concentrate Kar sakta hai ?

Upsc interviewer giving candidate's family background and his/ her background gives huge role in having high marks in interview for example this girl AIR9 apala mishra father is in army and she is bds dr. And her mother is too in dr or govt employ. Even ex upsc topper akshat jain had IAS father and IRS MOTHER and kanishk kataria too had IAS FATHER . So interview board give over high marks like 215+ to these kind candidates. But interview gave 179 to kanishk katraia bcoz he belong to sc ctegory and gave 200+ marks to akshat jain. . Upsc give low interiew marks to sc castegory in comparison to general and obc candidates.

1 . Genral category , then 2nd highest obc .
2. Candidate education background like IIT, MBBS OR BDS ,iim like this girl apala mishra is bds
3. Candidates family background like IAS IPS IRS parents or siblings. For ex akshat jain, kanishk kataria ,
4. Existing ips irs qualified who resigned and give upsc again who wants to become ias
The irony is sc st people population is more than genral people . So upsc should have more vacancy in sc st . But they give less then genral
Komal r idiot general 50% are open for all any category can get there with merit, And general population is 28% in India sc,St combine 15+7=22 %
