Great video! Can you share what SSD you installed. I am kind of stumped by the specs and how they relate. Seems they offer SSD in 120, 250, 500GB, 1TB, and 2Tb options. My main goal is to download software to manage and edit my photos. Thanks
Thanks! I used a PNY 500gb SATA SSD (NOT NVMe) which I grabbed for around $20 on sale but is probably usually closer to the $30-40 range. The capacity you'd want may vary depending on the amount of photos you have/plan on storing, but I'd say 500gb is probably a safe bet. With an SSD installed the photos app on the iMac does great managing photos as far as I can tell, but software for editing photos might be slightly limited. GIMP has older versions you can download (for OSX El Capitan I believe 2.10.12 is the latest supported version, download.gimp.org/gimp/v2.10/osx/), though I'm not sure about other general color grading apps like Adobe Light Room, Darktable, etc. If you are planning on more advanced photo editing and you aren't familiar with GIMP, it would probably be best that you do some research based on your preference.
