I'm a realtor. I just picked up an '89 Firebird Formula 350 same color and in absolutely excellent condition! The owner passed away and the personal representative of the estate sold it to me for $3,600. It has less than 60k miles and the sweet lady who passed bought it new. I think she only drove it to church it's amazingly clean! Just purchased 1/13/17 and didn't even drive it till today 1/16/17 (Monday when I was able to get it insured!) Just an amazing vehicle! This car has soul!
Pal you stole that that's an $18,000 vehicle all day long. Whoever was in charge of that sale obviously did not know the value of the vehicle, thank God for stupid people.
I bought mine new in June 1989. I still own it too. It was black with t-tops. Got it back on the road last year and drive it every now and then. It was repainted in 1994 gun metal gray. But that paint is peeling. So I will get it back to black when money allows.i love these cars and this one is awesome!
@@patientmental875 the paint in 1989 was horrible. 2 years in the clear coat was pealing really bad. I took very good care of it. In 1994 I had it painted the same color as my 1986 firebird. But that went bad because the factory paint was shot. Known problem with gm cars in the late 80s. So. I took it down to metal and repainted it to it's original color and graphics for it's 30th birthday. Not to each their own. My car is well maintained and cared for.
Wife drives one exactly like it. Have offered to get her a Caddy CTS or something, but NO! She loves her red Formula 350. My brother had bought it new in 89, and it was loaded. Has over 200k miles on it, and have never pulled a valve cover. Still corners at almost 1g, and is hoot to drive. I do whatever is necessary to maintain it for her. Replaced the shifter boot on New Years Eve in 17 degree cold.
Isn't this the same company that the UA-cam blogger worthless whips bought a white 89 Firebird formula from and then he came to find out that it was an odometer rollback? It was supposed to be a 20,000 plus mile vehicle ended up being over a hundred and twenty thousand miles. Not saying that whoever he bought it from was aware of it but people that are advertising such high-quality high-dollar Vehicles should be a lot more careful in the authenticity of the vehicle.
I have one but it won't start, it will turn over easy and start but you have to throttle it so much just to keep it barely running I'm not sure what the problem is
What's a w56 package?? Mine has a W, S 6 suspension and its a tpi which is fuel injection nothing to do with what type of motor but that motor is special it can be tpi, or tbi or carbureted.
I didn’t know you can get these air breathing, I thought they were all tuned port or throttle body. I love this fucking car, especially this color. I always wanted this when I was a kid, now that I can afford to buy three of them, I cannot drive a car anymore.
@@jjjss4905 Meh, not really. You're talking nearly 100 hp difference just with the Gen IV 5.3 LS alone. Those Gen II small blocks with TPI sounded amazing, but fell flat in the upper rpm range. Either way, with the amazing condition that this car was in I wouldn't touch a single thing.
@@patientmental875 True. I think it had to do with the torque ratings. The manuals couldn't handle the torque back then. The 700 R4 was rated for slightly more torque.
This was only 235hp. It felt like a lot at the time though, as there really wasn't much out there to compare domestically aside from the Mustang 5.0. Very few Camaros and Firebird/TAs from this era had the 350 as most came with the 305 for the V8 option, worst being the 305 TBI. The biggest crime was that you could not get a Z28 or Trans Am/Formula 350 with a manual. Auto was the only option with that engine.
@@MrSalty-eg4zb I don’t even see where you commented before..and if you owned all those cars you must have really liked them right? WS6 not W56.
Only flaw I see is the Formula decal on the lf nose is too low.
Iman Axbert yes you are correct. Which means it’s a repaint or put on as a after thought.
What is that color called. Never seen it on a firebird before??

It's fuel injection no need to touch the gas pedal while starting.... It's normal for tpi not very fast starters
