Whether it involves the hardest of moments on the frontline, or happier occasions in the garrison church, padres have always been seen as a key resource for the spiritual and mental wellbeing of personnel and their families. But the MoD is drastically short of chaplains, and despite a recruitment freeze in other sectors, the military is trying to entice more ministers to join up. British Forces News will be following the progress of one potential padre as he embarks on his journey.
