The Diamantina- Birdsville Bedourie Betoota

Diamantina Shire offers a unique outback experience. Situated in Queensland’s far south west on the Northern Territory and South Australian border, it was named after Lady Diamantina Roma Bowen, wife of the first Governor of Queensland.
This video introduces the Shire and the town of Birdsville, Bedourie and Betoota that have been central to the growth and prosperity of the region since the 1870’s. The Channel Country of West Queensland has a harsh beauty in the dry season transforming into a world of colour where wildflowers dominate the landscape after rain.
Known for some of the best cattle in Australia, Diamantina Shire is also home to the Birdsville Races where over 6,000 visitors from Australia and overseas celebrate outback style every September.

Camped in Birdsville back in August 2016, then out to Big Red for a spin up the dunes.
20 days and 6000 km latter, lots of travelling up to 6 hours per day, only 3 days of rain, Lightning Ridge, Winton and Mt Isa. Great trip 4×4 trip with my relatives. Possible to do some of the outback in a normal car, just hope it does not rain.
Remember to take a tool kit, extra fuel, spare tyres and fan belts and prs cb radio because cell phones dont work unless your are close to a town. Telstra is the only service provider when you leave the big cities in much of Australia.

Wow - that's a bit desperate isn't it? Tell her to be like a real Australian Outback woman & do it alone until you meet someone naturally. There's no better way of meeting a lifelong partner than getting to know them as a friend first. Most of those onliine women are after men for their money, nothing else - it's happened to many of my male friends who owned properties. Tell her to stand on her own two feet & meet people the old fashioned way.
