Here's a thought. Transform the downtown, central area into a pedestrian/multi-use plaza on weekends. No cars or other motorized vehicles allowed. Downtown Stamford is becoming a series of "mini-highways" adorned with beautiful, ultra modern office buildings, apartments, and condos. It’s time for a change. People no longer want to be stuck in their cars hunting for a parking space. They want to walk around, patronize businesses, ride their bike, sit down in a cafe, restaurant, or park to see and be seen, and relax with friends--and maybe even make a few new ones. It's hard to appreciate how charming Stamford can be when seat-belted in your four-wheeler driving defensively in stop and go traffic.
Just need to go to Europe (especially Spain) to experience something like that! 😊
