KYRO & STYLE agreed! Heidi Range was an okay replacement for Shevaughn who’s my favourite , but Mutya is probably second. But both Mutya and Keisha and Shevaughn too I guess, have such interesting and extraordinary voices unlike the other girl groups at the time . All their rivals were very ordinary and not that special. Sugababes had a Sound all their own but that changed with the loss of each founding member. They were never a Spice Girls /Girls Aloud type commercial group even in the Jade Ewan line up era but they definitely became gradually more mainstream. They’re still my favourite tho. I’m just waiting for the six piece reunion tour with Shevaughn ,Mutya, Keisha, Heidi Amele and Jade.
I liked the configuration with Heidi too, but something about these three together is very captivating and magical. it would be interesting to see what direction they would have taken if Siobhan never left.
as big as a 1.0 stan i am, i dont think they wouldve been as successful but i like 2 think if they released at least a 2nd album with that lineup, they wouldve gone further down the leftfield/“alt” route kinda like siobhan did with her solo stuff
This is probably among my favourite Sugababes songs ever . This is a funny performance though. I don’t know who choreographed the dance routine but it doesn’t seem right some how. I’m pretty sure Keisha Mutya and Siobhan are miming but that’s just what pop stars do sometimes. The Promotional video is a lot more subtle some how so with the most enormous love and respect for Siobhan who wrote this (should’ve known really; ) maybe something else would have worked better? I dunno?

I remember them when they initially got grouped, their band name was something like Sugarbabies and then their management decided to use Sugababes instead to make it mature, so somehow the girls should be aware of the direction, in my opinion. About the "freedom", it's really scary when you dont know exactly know the next steps

The dancing is really awkward, Mutya and Siobhan in particular had two left feet lol. Sugababes were good singers and artists but not the best entertainers/dancers.
Because they were told to synchronise. Listen to them singing Flower of Graham Norton all these years doing their own thing, much more comfortable and the harmonies are still amazing all these years later.
Yeah I think the dancing was forced into live performances of this song since it was a girl group thing to do; Sugababes in their prime were definitely more about the songs and the singing above anything else, esp with this line-up.
xxxTIN0xxx they weren’t really that kind of a group. But maybe with better choreography and a more ambitious dance instructor they could be more of a dance moves act but they’re not Steps or one of those dance routine acts?

Mutya is my fave, shes so pretty and massive voice to boot. Love her so much and this song. But when she left Sugababes was never the same.
When Mutya left, the band lost all their credibility in terms of image, sound, and songwriting. They became generic.
Totally. She anchored the group tbh, and gave it the edge that set them apart from other girl groups around that time.
