- I loved this sitcom & have never forgotten it, even though it's now 30 years old and as far as I know was never shown again! It was on Friday nights at either 9 or 10, and was a real breath of fresh air, even though I was only an early teen and lived in the suburbs not a tower block in London, I really felt like it was talking to me & not my parents! Also it was very unusual in that it had a gay character, who was openly gay, and appeared completely run of the mill, and not affected, I love camp, but it was a very positive move forward, something for which Channel 4 were famous.
It was great fun & very fresh for the time, but had some old skool support from the fabulous Maria Charles - Enjoy!

Written by Paul Hines & Su Wilkins.
Starring - Rachael Weaver, Amanda Symonds, Frank Lee, Ray Burdis & the fabulous Maria Charles.
Brilliant theme tune from Kirsty Mccoll - RIP.
This was transferred using a JVC VCR with Time Base Control, which corrects picture problems on the tape, it did a great job, but the tape is in such a state it that it couldn't handle all the issues and it generates occasional blank spots, I turned it off in part 2. - Комедії
Thank you. I was beginning to think Dream Stuffing was a figment of my imagination!
I remember this show.
It was part of the friday night comedy line up shown on Channel 4 that included...
'No Problem' and 'Cheers'.
Channel 4 (at the time) was new, fresh and very original.
The cliche, "it had something for everyone" really applied to Channel 4.
I so want those days back... hell, I want my youth back!!!
Massive thanks for uploading. I really fell for Rachael Weaver; still love her to bits. A great comedy actress and much under-rated in my humble opinion.
You're most welcome, glad you enjoyed it, I'm just sorry I don't have anymore, it's now mostly forgotten ;-(.
Never thought I would see this again, thank you. :)
Aah, that's nice, you're welcome. I've got another one somewhere,. hope to upload it at some point ;-).
Now available from oldtimetv
Can’t believe this is here...haha. Used to love it and never thought I’d find it again. Big thanks!
This was my favourite show back in the day. I loved Friday nights on Channel 4 with obscure sitcoms followed by classic drama. You have made me happy giving me the chance to see this again. It has a special place in my heart. I had a huge fondness for it - and still do. It might be low budget but it has a charm of its own and is funny
Happy memories,,,thank you for sharing!
This certainly takes me back. I used to enjoy this show a lot. Amazing to think that it was made all the way back in 1984.
This is the Britain I grew up in, this is the Britain I'm proud of.
what a bizarre sequitur statement
This was very true to life at the time in so many ways.
@@w1lf1ewoo Huh?
very goodcasting MILLION thanks for uploading, Bless you xxx
Hey I really look forward to the other 2 episodes. It is quite exciting to have the opportunity to see these as I never thought I would get the chance. This show kind of makes you feel warm inside. Thankyou again
Thankyou so so much for this!! I've been like Hazeldene 'searchin' for this for eons. Couldn't even get the theme tune by Kirsty & here It is, all in one. You've made me very happy!!!
You are most welcome, always great to make someone happy! I do have 2 other eps which I will get up when I can, they are in a right old state, so take some work; unfortunately the end is missing from one, but I'll still upload it. How funny - I bought a vintage hifi last week and just got out some of my old vinyl, the last few days I've been listening to Hazell & Whatever I do, great tune! I also see you're probably a RPDR fan, hope you're enjoying the season, I'm not sure yet ;-)
chillmax Never really been much of a Hazell Dean fan, more Divine. Now I'm thinking of that song from Lust in the Dust...These Lips! I love Ru, but have only seen a few episodes, there's one guy who I think Is just amazing, Willem is It? He looks wonderfully trashy...Debbie Harry meets a drunk Goldie Hawn! & Lady Bunny of course. I'm trying to find the Dame Edna interview with Mary Whitehouse, It seems to have disappeared. Strange that there is only one clip of 'Filth' (Julie Walters), thought there would be more. Sorry to bombard you, but have also been looking for the wonderful late Anna Massey in a channel 4 play (1989) Shalom Joan Collins. I just wondered If you'd seen It somewhere? These old favourites keep popping into my head! Incidentally, I viewed your video of your house, you've done an absolutely amazing job, It's beautiful. Sorry for the overly long reply, got carried away!
1bermark Guess what I'm wearing right now, one of my Willem T-shirts, no really ;-) Once you get his humour, he's utterly irresistible, if a little naughty!! I'm so sorry, but I don't have any of those shows, maybe search Ebay, you may find an old VHS of them. Thanks so much for your kind comments about the refurb I did, it looked even better in person, did you watch the whole thing, the best bits are upstairs ;-) Thanks again & have a great day Jx
I wish the complete series was released on DVD I loved this show soooo much, i was 15 at the time and thought it was very funny and cool. Thanks for uploading this episode, if anyone has any other episodes please please please share them xXx
This is a great transfer from vhs, I appreciate seeing how it turned out :)
fab! love this show. wish it was on dvd.
OK, like to go bacK to these days please!
So do i miss the 80s
Used to love this series
Loved this show and used to tape it.
I loved this show 👍❤️
I still enjoy this programme. Today I found out who Barry Bucknell was - a DIY tv presenter.
Aaaah, thanks Miss DD, that's a nice thing to say, I really appreciate it!! It's a lot of work, it can take up to 24 hours to transfer/ correct/ produce & upload a single show, but there's more to come, so keep watching. Lots of love from the UK - Jxx
i loove this show. your channel is amazing. great fun. :) i think i'll stay a bit......
I loved Maria Charles who appeared in this and Agony - both shown by Channel 4 on Friday nights at this time. Her character was much more fun in this.
I can't remember seeing this and i watched alot of tv in 1980s.
it was on very late on C4
Same... was it a Pilot?
Don’t recall this at all! Looks fun though. I was out a lot in the late 80s.
Any fan of DS is a friend of mine! I have got 2 more episodes to upload, which will be done soon. Maria Charles is the star of one of the eps I've got, unfortunately the end is missing, but I'll UL it anyway. PS, if you're old enough to remember this, you're too old to say 'Back in the day' ;-)
Yes!
Thank you so much! I loved this comedy too. It’s such a shame it has been buried. There was indeed a time when television was not all formulaic carbon copy shows.
According to Wikipedia, the (in my opinion) stupid snobby critic, Martin Walker in the ‘Grauniad’ attacked it as ‘heroically bad’, finding it a painful attempt to construct an ‘up-to-date and relevant sitcom’ that turned out close to a parody of Channel 4's right-on output of the time.”
Well wasn’t it supposed to be a parody? Wasn’t that the point of the humour?
Again thank you so much for preserving this show about the East End before Shoreditch became fashionable...
If channel 4 is not BBC with dels flat in Peckham
I think this show had a smaller budget then AYBS
is the girl that plays Jude in this the same as Magda in Ab Fab??
No, Magda was played by Kathy Burke. They sound similar though both have working class London accents.
Was Perry Benson ever young?
Was this filmed in delboys flat? 😂
Does anybody recognise the VERY Special Guest?
Their Flat is the one from Only Fools & Horses!
Do you mean the building? They're possibly the same, I don't know, but the BBC & C4 didn't use the same studios, so the interiors are different. Council flats will like quite similar to one another though.
@@thebadtemperedbrit It is ... I assure you... the flat at Nelson Mandella Tower.
Same Kitchen, Living room, Window.. Balcony Door... Same Door and Hallway... same Coat hangers and glass.
I guess that there were third party studios .... Pretty Sure Ellestree weren't bothered who paid them.
There was a big cloud of doubt over the first, second and third series of Fools.
I imagine they just squeezed in a cheeky one to pay the bills.
I may be wrong.. but it is a nice bit of old skool Pop Culture Trivia Investigation to find out..?
@@thebadtemperedbrit If I had the computer and software to do a side by side comparison I would enjoy doing that...
As I say.. if it Is NOT the same.. I would be bewildered as to why....
Was this a One off Pilot episode?
I don't have any recollection of this... and there were some very up and coming actors in it!
The only one I don't personally recognise was Mo. Is that the straight girl's name?
I saw Jude in 'Scrubbers' the other day.. the Pigeon fancier that slit her wrists. She played alongside Kathy Burke in that.. 2 years prior.
Looks like only fools and horses.
14 minutes in and i ve seen enough. not funny channel four comedy at its worst.
I think you had to be there to get it!
