Roly has been on the air for a few years. Heck he has some countries in his log that no longer exists. Just think, Roly has out lived a bunch of countries. There should be an award for that 🙃. 73 guys
It makes me sad to think of all the hours i put into chasing these deleted countries. They still count for the total number of countries worked but they don not count towards the "current" countries list. weird places such as Mall Vysotskij Island, Neutral Zone, Seal Island, Bophuthatswana, Serrana Bank, Bajo Nuevo, Okino Torishima, Kingman Reef, Canal Zone, Transkei, Venda, Walvis Bay. All of which were rare and exotic places but are no longer...... sighhhhh....
Funny timing… just finished my DXCC this week ( was waiting on Lesotho and Eswatini) and am going to apply here shortly. Thanks for the video. 73 De W3OY.
my question is whats his station like? What antennas does he use, Yagis mounted at a half wave length high or higher?, ground mounted Verticals?? What is his output power 500w, 1k, 1.5k? The awards are nice but its journey that's inspiring!
Hi Hayden and Roly, I have 118 countries with 101 QSL's confirmed. I think I have 4 that are not on LoTW nor will they QSL. Roly, have you had a situation where you could not get a QSL confirmation? Both of you stay safe. 73 WJ3U
I have two QSOs that I have never been able to get a QSL: EK and EZ. They both requested direct. I suspect they are green stamp collectors. I love a paper QSL just as much as everyone else, but that can get expensive if you want it fast (unless there is a reliable QSL manager). LotW is the way to go to get your DXCC awards ASAP, if the ex station uses it. 73s
Awesome stuff 👍👍
