FYI Black Halo Racing sells a reinforced clutch pedal for the RX-8, it also fits the NC as it's the same part. For anyone that doesn't want to order from Japan, or weld.
I figured the last comment I would receive on this video would be about welding on the floor of all things. Can confirm, knees are fine.
I'm ok, I'm not a welder, don't plan to be. This is the third time I've needed to use this machine for anything car related and it works fine for what I've needed to do. I'll use my knee pads next time.
FYI, it is not the same part. The stamped sheet metal is, but the pedal length and spring are different. The pedal will hang lower than the NC pedal and may not be able to fully actuate the slave.
Thanks for the video. I'm doing this with a friend that had his pedal break and mine is creaking also. I've ordered mine from Nielex and we're going to install one (he ordered) today on my friend's car. Thanks for the great instructions. I'll let you know how it goes.
i love when youtube videos never show how to actually remove the part. It just pans to the part taking out then put right back in.
Nothing about this video is a how to. Go out to your car and look under the dash. It's 3 nuts. It's not hard.
did this same kit and painted it up turned out feeling real soild great vid Bro
Yea I was surprised at how solid my pedal felt after
Good to know, I'm having a happy meal kit installed from Goodwin racing along with new slave and master cylinders. My 2007 is at 105k and I never considered this as a potential failure point. I might just go with the reinforced clutch petal for the Rx-8. It would be ironic if I went through all the trouble to overall my clutch components and the clutch petal itself is what fails lol
It's definitely worth thinking about!
Hey Jackson are these plates aluminum or steel?
I would assume steel since I could weld them so easily!
I see this issue is too common for NC owners to not wonder if there's been complaints registered with the National Highway Safety Bureau? A component failure like this should be the basis of a nation-wide product safety recall. MAZDA USA should be repairing this safety defect free of charge to NC owners.
I've heard someone say there was a recall - but who knows.
