Let the bees rob it before you melt it. Also, the honey water can be used to open feed as a syrup. If you have chickens, they will eat the brood leftovers. They also can be used to start fires.
G,day guys. Another entertaining episode. When’s the Missus going to make a cameo? Your sub tally will skyrocket!😄. Regards from your friends at The Flat.
OMG I am absolutely falling in love with this man and his videos. Your puppies are adorable. My husband just told our neighbors I wanted some of their honeycomb. I wanted the wax. So here we go.........
I hope that I can be as good a beekeeper as you, I do appreciate you and your son, I have learned so much. I am grateful that you do make mistakes, not everyone is perfect all the time like some beekeepers. Thank you.
If you were to slow down a little and pour the wax off the top of the water slowly, through a paper towel covered sieve, you could do it in one heat up and a few slow pours, then the paper towels are perfect firelighters., The bottom dark water is also great for your compost heap. Love your videos.
No, it's not very edible once boiled with larvae and brood. More of a thin syrup. I've heard of people giving it back to the bees like he just did but with a wad of straw floating around so they dont drown. Also the farm animals can consume it like pigs if you mix it in with their slop. Chickens will eat the stuff in the bag. Nothing is wasted.
So much fun to watch, those bees of yours are friendly, nice of them not to sting you while you nicked off with their new bee hotel. Great outdoor area, can see why you need to be kept busy LOL!
The ladies get drawn so quick to the wax and honey. That's why some ,who like to use whatever they can, uses the stuff strained out of the wax for swarm boxes. Smells like home!
That Steve Irwin joke nearly got out! 😂
"stove knobs that is" 😂 cheeky old cobber.
Great Video Guys. Keep it up.....East Texas USA

I just bought myself the same BBQ spatula last week, in Finland! :)
Have you pondered a solar wax melter? Very simple to build, and only take one pass for perfectly clean wax.

Raise your hand if you thought there was going to be an incident with the nail gun...

Watch this and it gives you some ideas:
Grow jellybush to collect Manuka honey. You could even get the NZ seeds on ebay.
Your videos are great. Do you keep the propolis for tinctures?
What is tinctures?
Hey Bush man. How long does it usually take wax comb to become brittle, black, and need replacing.?
I've read 3-5 years.

Can the stuff you scraped off the wax be used for anything?
