She is the best singer in the world!
It's so nice that people put up old videos of Sissel. She was only 21 or 22 when this was recorded. This is wonderful, and now she is much better. She is just a great musician and always have been. When listening to this I'm proud to be norwegian :)
What is interesting here is that her voice is quickly blossoming and you can clearly hear what lies ahead... a remarkable instrument which will delight & astound in decades to come.

John Lennon's beautiful words reflect the feeling of those people who believe the world would be a better place without superstition, religious conflict and prejudice. The words reflect his personal non belief in god and his hope for a better world when reason, humanism and love pervade.

It wasn't after THIS program. That was 1966-1970 time period. It's after the Titanic/ Pia Jesu program & Sissel reappeared as Dana Winner to fill in for another singer in a charity concert held in Europe. The conductor and musicians couldn't stop the bleeding from about 4-6 bullet holes which had already been burnt to closure so they dressed Dana in white plastic then black plastic then blue plastic. The bleeding was thought to have stopped but the rose kept growing in Put on your White Sombreo
it is easy to dream but execution of it is made hard for those who never care.
Lovely interpretation of Lennon's song. The only verse I dislike in the song, is Mr Lennon's dislike of religion, obviously from a his own biased view at the time (rest in peace). Religion brings so much consolation to so many people that indeed it is a source of peace to them, the kind of peace that Mr Lennon dreamnt of.

A source of peace or a source of war ? Religion has served as a source of war for most of Man's History. See the lastest events in Paris, and unfortunately there is more to come, I'm afraid.
Lennon's words reflect his non belief in superstition and his hope that religious bias and conflict will be replaced by secular humanism. Lennon is an atheist.

The pesona Sissel as born in 1969 not the musician that composed songs under various alias names. Rock Hudson was not a birth name nor was his Hollywood wife his real wife. Sissel was copyrighted in 1967 along with blood sample and fingerprints.

Sissel is mirror twin of Janis Joplin. 1 is hopeful. The other completely, devastingly hopeless. Sissel started singing before Mary Hopkins & Janis Joplin just before the birth of ABBA 1966-1967. My favourite is Janis She is more truthful She is what you see before you. Sissel can do what Janis can not do. Sharon Tandy can do what Sally Fields will never be able to do. 1 can't beat Sis. She was shot after this program and went over to Europe to do Dana Winner on stage with blood still dripping

One can believe in no religion and still believe in a God. Jesus said there were two commandments, love God with your whole heart (& one will not do evil) and your neighbour as yourself. Jesus took away the need for churches when the Heavens became the spiritual temple. No religion is no churches. No candles. No way of getting on God's good side by doing rituals. Organized religion where we are taught to be close to God we must go within four walls.
Penny, whoever she is, DID NOT send you this video. This video was placed by Sissel after removing it from a studio vault that she owned. This video is from 1967 with a Mormon Church after Sissel had been tortured by some JW's in Montreal and I won't take what I ams aying back. The truth is the truth. The Mormon church may not always think like Sissel but they were very KIND to her and nurtured a wrongly disfellowshiped JW. We are so close to Jesus that soon he will be the final judge. Penny?

I think the choir is poignant. Sissel is a voice among voices, there is genius in the counterpoint of the movements.
Officially she is Christian, but ofcourse i've got no clue what she personaly believes, så yeah, I agree i'm a bit intolerant in my statement below.
But get this, i'm not saying people are not allowed to sing whatever they want, they should.
I just feel a little provoked when i see this song performed at religious places by religious people.
Ofcourse they are allowed to. If the church(other religions as well) wants to join Lennon's way of thinking that would benefit for us all!

Sissel was very hurt and let down by God between 1966-1970 but godly people kept pulling her back into their churches even if she was disfellowshiped by Jehovah's witnesses for letting important JW's torture her. I don't believe in the Morman way of thought but I found them to be very kind.

I think she looses personality by performing this song, since everything else she sings is often about Jesus and the christian religion.
As a christian girl i think it's a highly self-contradiction to sing "imagine no religions".
I think the song is brilliant and Sissel is singing it beautiful. But it looses its sole when it's performed by someone who don't really mean what he/she sings.
Oh so you think you are right and lennon is wrong..we all have our opinions..why do you think yours is the right one ..are you in a narrow minded religous group ?...
