Thank you! I'm on a mission to learn how to play. Your sentence "learned by rote" much respect for mentioning this because I want to be thoroughly learned so I may possibly compose steel pan music one day.
Welcome then! .. You and I are on a very similar path! I am myself learning and growing.... I am trying my hand at arranging and I would love to compose one of these days! I hope that my experiences can help you and vice versa!! Let me know how and if I can help more!
I was very glad to see your page as I was looking for information relative to playing the steel pan. I'd like you to share your expertise in finding a tenor. Would you please make some recommendations? I'm in South Florida but can move around if need be, Thanks.
I'm happy the channel is some help to you. I don't know anyone in particular in south Florida who makes. There are a some builders in the US, I'll see what I can find out for you... As far as T&T pans, there are pans for sale via the mittcott website. There is also Augustus Peters who makes some good pans as well. I'll see what I can find out for you.
Thanks for the breakdown. Well explained.. I’ve tried to learn and understand playing little songs on both but the switching back and forth throws me off especially since I’m now learning. 🙈 Going to definitely try to stick to the Low C that I personally have. 😂😂 Learning pan isnt easy.
Thanks for the encouragement and pointers. Will do what I can.. also the way your videos are done are extremely helpful. Well put together.. Will continue practicing and await the next videos to come!! Continued Blessings!! 😊🙏🏾
Musically illiterate as I am, totally lost. Put myself in a student's place however, have learned things I was ignorant of before, so have to say as usual, great lesson. Keep it up.👍

Hi, I'm old but following pan since in the 70s at a very young age. Live in San Fdo and always remember Stevev Achiba with Hatters back in the day. Still interested in learning to play the tenor pan, although it looks difficult. Anyone , including yourself u can recommend from a guy in south willing to.learn.
I love how you explain these basics, making it very easy to understand.
Thank you! I'm happy to hear that the information is being received well. Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
Thanks will appreciate any help. Will wait to hear from you. God bless.
You explained this beautifully and the images and animation were an added bonus. Well done!
Thank you! I appreciate your kind words ☺️
Excellent video. I have to pay c major scale in a higher octave for it to not sound odd moving from a high c to a low d
Thank you! Yeah on the high C tenor (low D) there's no low C, so playing the C major scale starting from the lowest C on a high C pan sounds weird.

No shame in the game… one step at a time. Yh I’d stick to the low C too if I was you. Just focus on mastering what you have. Continue continuing!

Way can I get a pan to buy?
Where are you located and what kind of pan. I can possibly recommend someone.
This is good for those who don't know but it would have been better with a sound sample...
Yeaaahhhh I missed out on that one. This was similar feedback I got the intro videos and idk like I lapse. Thanks though. I appreciate the feedback.
