- This video is mainly for people who are testing the Beta bersion of our upcoming edition XS mod but it may be interesting for some of you nutters so see some of the graphs and stuff. If you have any feedback about the install let me know.

I was one of the lucky few who got to try these beauties out.
Wow. What an improvement!
Straight off the bat I've noticed Bass & Soundstage improvements.
Previous soundstage was sitting just behind my ears/shoulders, sound has now been brought forward which I prefer and has opened right up presenting much larger.
Bass is now more punchy which is quite surprising, I normally EQ my XS as they have so much head room.
I can now see myself rocking without EQ at times which wasn't an option previously.
Installation was much easier than expected, justed needed to committ and get over the first step.
Fantastic job guys, big fan.
Highly recommend grabbing a pair of these when they become available.

@CustomCans My beta kit arrived today. The modification is already finished, it was really easy. The first listen sounds very promising. I'll listen more closely in the next few days with fresh ears and try out different music. But so far it's really surprising how different/better the Edition XS sound now. Detailed feedback will come when I have tested them extensively. Thanks again for the chance to take part in the beta.🥰

Patiently waiting for the feedback! Low the comfort strap and ready for more soundstage! Would love the XS grills in black. Would be cool if you created a custom software eq to get that last little bit exactly how you want on top of the mod.
I listened to this while getting ready but will try to actually watch it today at some point because I'm extremely interested in mods to Edition XS!
Months of work has gone into this so I hope it is OK... Fingers crossed the beta testers will like it

Very cool, those grills look awesome, it would be cool to offer them in a bunch of color choices. I don’t have my edition xs anymore but if I did I would give this a shot.
We tend to pre-print things in batches so they are ready to send and we only have a single colour printer so having to swap filaments would be a hustle - we may do it for an extra charge if you want a custom colour
First, thank you for your hard work and passion that you share with us! I did try the mod. It is very interesting to hear the effect of changing that grill. It is like a new driver! I did not try the organic but I think I would not like it… for me the mod bring too much unnatural brightness and annoying « S » in the voice. The 2k-4k is also weaken and accentuate that timber shift. You are right, that mod amplify the soundstage in a special and fun way and it work great for orchestral recordings… but with a lot of vocal this hi boost is not good. Over all I prefer the XS in stock version and I am very curious to try the Arya stealth and organic… maybe I would still prefer the XS…

@@CustomCans I tried the strips inside the cup without glueing them. It reduce the S but not as much as the stock XS. Your graph show that even with the strips, the 5k-10-12k are much higher than original. That is what I heard… the 1k bump did not bother me. The 2-4k deep does remove some presence and affect the realism of the timber I think. For a better testing, I wish I had 2 XS to A-B them…
@@guystpierrecomposer Yes you are right - You would need to stick it in place to block the air going through the holes in the pads but even with the pad mod, they will still be brighter than the stock XS.

@@CustomCans the good thing is that shows that I did not loose my hearing too much ;) I’m 60 but I’m a sound engineer and I always took care of my hearing. For me, the S are very annoying in my work and I’m not tolerant for that. Even with the stock XS, it bug me on certain recordings. I use the mojo 2 and I lower the hi freq when I listen to pop music because of that… that is why I would probably won’t like the Arya organic…

I'm too afraid to try this mod 😅 but im really interested in the results and I'm looking forward to here from the beta testers !
Yes - it is a little scary pulling apart headphones. We will be offering a send in service and pre-modded ones
love the pointing at YOUR monitor. I do that too and every single time my brain steps in at some point and calls me a dimwit. Pointless pointing if you will :)
Other than that:
this might make me get a used pair of the XS and try out the mod. Everything that is in the wider ballpark of ANY Arya modell is in a good ballpark - they are all rather lovely, well mannered headphones.
Yeh - I need a weather man style green screen setup and a pointy stick ;)

using the minidsp ears instead of something like the gras makes it really hard to compare to other headphones
Hopefully, once they are ready, we will manage to get some out to reviewers with decent kit
@@CustomCans will look forward to that then! its personally hard to justify buying a headphone just to mod without having a good idea what it will sound like after the mod. even if the mod does seem extremely cool lol

Hopefully soon. I will see what the testers say about it and if it is all good then they will be up for sale on the website and we will be doing some bundles with the head strap and cables as well

Maybe.... but we have quite a few other projects in the queue already
The XS looks like soething to try out. I tried the Organic and found it way too treble focused, I truly don't understand the hype around that headphone.
Yes it is very much a personal taste thing. I quite like a brighter headphone but I am old and was a DJ in the 90s and 00s so probably lost a lot of hearing in that upper range ;)
@@CustomCans Ah I see, well there is that conspiracy that the further up in price you go the brighter everything becomes because manufacturers know it is only older/hearing damaged people buying very expensive headphones.
