I just turned 42, and have been rocking' street wear since 1993 from echo to triple 5 soul, x large to esdjco, and currently off white to stone island. there are occasions where I will wear slacks, suits, etc., but majority of the time I'm in casual gear

I'll be 43 in a few weeks. I enjoy a mix of age appropriate clothes but I also like styles like Aime Leon Dore, Kith and Fear of God. I shop at GAP and Target. I mix and match as needed depending on the occasion. Style starts with you and your personality. Most days I'm in sweats and some Birkenstock Boston's to chill and run errands. The difference is as we get older we care about comfort first and foremost.

I'm 32 and all I have to say for the 20 year olds out there is that Trust me, 30 sneaks up on you real fast and its not like your fashion just changes on a dime. I've been into the "neo-preppy" aesthetic like Aime Leon Dore and I feel like that's definitely age appropriate. There's definitely things that I don't wear anymore but you could definitely wear streetwear in your 30s.

Eddie you’ve been a major influence in the way I perceive my style and fashion in general. We’re probably around the same age so I really appreciate how relatable you are. Ive learned the value of wearing what makes me feel happy. Variety is the spice of life!!! Some days, it’s a polo and chinos...other days it’s my hoodie and Jordans. In the winter, I bust out my peacoat and in the summer, I’m rocking my Knicks jerseys (don’t wanna hear it!) Your take on mixing street wear with men’s wear is such a cool visual that anyone, no matter what age they are, can use in many situations. Keep doing you bro! We appreciate it✊🏽

Getting older and starting a full-time job definitely made me feel like I had to put streetwear aside but these days depending on your office environment you can even wear sneakers to work in a tasteful way. The right setting and execution is key but aside from that nothing is stopping you from wearing w.e you want

Just look at Hiroshi Fujiwara, Junya Watanabe and Rei Kawakubo who are now entering their 80s, with Fragment, Undercover and Comme Des Garçons all currently killing it in the street ware scene. My wardrobe is nowhere near as stylish as them but I'm still young and have time to build a collection of great pieces, I definitely look to them as how to style street wear as you get older. Notice how they all stick to black dominated silhouettes to create a sense of mystery, colour is still allowed but more as an accent piece.

I dealt with this with my massive sneaker collection. It wasn’t really about what people thought ....it was my evolution in thinking. I switched to basic colors (no label clothing) and I was still able to enjoy my sneaker collection . Also, I started concentrating on my watch collection as a compliment to my maturity in thinking.

I’m 41 and I dress however I please. I had this one young kid call me out one time and tell me that I was posing and too old to be dressing in streetwear. He was literally wearing a Metallica vintage T-shirt with some Levi’s and Jordan 1’s. I looked at him and said “you’re literally wearing clothes from my generation”, who’s the poser? His friends laughed.

She’s a fashion icon, old lady, hip as f**k. After watching it I’m thinking why do all the ladies get to have all the fun. Why can’t I rock what I want and represent me? Between her and you…my head is cleared. Thank you!

Honestly, I got into streetwear late into the game. I’m 30 and I always wondered if this is a style I will hold for years to come and if I’m getting too old for it. But then I realized that style is subjective. I agree with you that there should be a balance between casual streetwear and more formal mens wear, because there is a time and place to dress for certain occasions. Glad you brought this up and shed some light on this topic.

I’m glad I started switching to minimalistic pieces in my mid 20s, ie: the small logos on the left chest. I feel the clothing is timeless this way regardless of the brand. Even a Hollister hoodie can work w/ just the small bird logo, but not the large Hollister California pieces, same goes for BOGO Supreme/ Box Kith pieces.
That being said, I probably wouldn’t do no marvel captain America t shirt and flip flops on a first date per se, not in this lifetime, not in the next.

This subject matter is not about all men! It's about Black men!
Street wear was created by Black men and it came out of Hip Hop culture. You don't have to wear sagging jeans and Air Jordans throughout your mature years as a Man to feel good.
Sagging jeans is prison style because the jeans sag because you can't wear a belt in Prison.
Any 40 year old guy who never wear shoes is in a Time Warp!
Street wear comes from Rap music culture and it's sloppy looking.
Rap music culture or gangster Rap called you Black women " Bitches and Hoes"!! And those clothes reflect that! The White guy in the video likes Hip Hopop culture but only live it through dressing.
      Goodbye GQ magazine!!!
      Is that what you want??
The guy in the video looks ridiculous in what he's wearing.
It's time to grow up and dress like a real man!

When I was 35 I decided it was time to “upgrade” my wardrobe. I spent around 6k dollars on button up shirts, suit jackets, slacks, shoes…. Etc. I tried for 2 months to wear the clothes I spent so much money on. I absolutely HATED everything I was wearing. I didn’t feel like me…. I wound up giving all of it to Goodwill. Most of the clothes still had the tags on them. I’m 43 now and I don’t see myself ever changing my style the way I tried to before. I do stay up on streetwear trends tho. I don’t rock them all, but if I try something new and I like the look, I integrate it into my style.

The key is timing and style. Pair items together that have style and you can’t go wrong regardless of the brand. Being an old head I wear it all; Wingtips, Ostrich boots, Vans, Nike. I would throw on a black skully with the camo coat in this video and my black leather combat boots and kick back.

DO NOT get rid of any of your nice streetwear items. Even if you feel like you might have personally outgrown that style, you never know what the future is for that brand or Streetwear in general. Now that vintage is fully in, some of the pieces you own could become "archive" and expensive. Plus you can always repurpose them to fit a completely different aesthetic as well.

Bottom line grown men and women can do whatever we want to do. We work we provide and contribute to society and to have someone tell us what we can and cant wear especially if its a juvenile age group that is laughable. Like Eddie stated ,if it makes you feel good and confident go for it.

You look great my man!! I just love your style and personality! I'm 40 and still love street wear. Here in LA, especially post covid WFH culture, I've even gotten more comfortable wearing some streetwear to my client meetings haha people are way more open about your own individual expression nowadays. Keep up the great work!

William, i think there is always a way to update the same style as we age and our bodies change. There is casual streeet style for work setting, friday's dress code. Now I am going to be lawyer later this summer. I am 42. I don't like the preppy bougie with loafers look or the dark academia esthetics that has now taken over . Imma keep my casual but refined street style. I am a new grand father also. i am now judged my different standards.

I'm 41 and I still wear Jordan's, Nike's, New Era caps (mostly the Chicago Bulls or White Sox), Jordan/Nike hoodies, etc, on a daily basis. I grew up with the rise of sneaker culture and basketball in the late 80's and into the 90's. My first pair of Jordan's were the black/raptor 7's in 1992 and still have them lol. I still see a lot of people in my age group wearing the same stuff, and I think it's great the younger kids are wearing it to!

I talked about this on my channel a few years ago. Here's what sparked it:
I had younger viewers offering their opinion on what someone who's clearly old enough to be their dad or uncle on what I "should" be wearing.
We have generation that thinks that 25 and up js old.
We also have that same generation who don't own a suit nor know how to tie a tie and think there's never a need for a well tailored suit.
Limited sneakers 99.8% will get you no where in the business arena. Having a good mix of appropriate clothing for various occasions shows maturity and range. Young men, people take you far more serious in q suit than those limited sneakers only your niche peer group are aware of.
For my more "experienced in life" males, it's your money so buy and wear what you like. Those with opinions won't buy you a thing.

Very great topic, which I have already dealt with. The trigger at the time was a woman my age who appealed to me if I was not too old to skate.... This made me think and really moved me to question what I want to represent and what I like. Not that I didn't do that before - just not so intensely. Since my "roots" are very sporty, skating basketball and football and my musical interests are very hip hop heavy, I identify with the streetware and its subcultures. I now wear a mixture of street and minimal - my wardrobe is reduced to the most important pieces. Dealing with the topic has not only further defined my style but also strengthened my self-confidence - because that's how I define myself 👌. Didn't know you before, I had to leave a subscription right away

Being in my forties now, I enjoy dressing more sophisticated and you'll find it catches you a lot of attention. Although, if I'm headed for a long walk, I'll throw on a pair of Vans or Sneakers but normally I like to do better these days. Classy women prefer sophisticated. An average girl won't mind streetwear, but why do average when you can do better?

This is a great topic! Clothing is a choice it's so many options out there wear what makes you feel good don't worry about be judged.... Me personally I didnt have much growing up we had to make the best... I'm 45 and often buy whatever I like as I couldn't afford it back then style is style we aren't the same we are all Unique I rock sweat suits often as they are comfortable and still look spicy to me my favorite shoe in the older Adidas ultra boost and my shoe collection is still growing... History always repeats itself so don't throw your old gear away as it will come back around like you see baggy jeans etc are back! I never got on the skinny Jean boat as that stuff is very uncomfortable to me and doesn't fit my personality

Who determines what’s age appropriate? It’s just clothes wear what you want to wear. What I will say is certain settings require a certain style of dressing. I wouldn’t go to a formal dinner with baggy jeans and a white tee for example. I also wouldn’t walk the street casually with a suit on for no apparent reason. There is a time and place for everything. I like wardrobe diversity personal. Sometimes I feel bapeish and sometimes I feel like purple label Ralph Lauren...

Im 41 and love classic mens wear dating back to the early 1900's, my casual and formal wear(category) tributes to the 1920- late 1950's style(the golden era for classic menswear). and i love classical American sports attire (which transitioned to, and is the pioneer of street wear) frm 1950- late 1980's (when the designs were nice and simple not too over the top) for example lettermen jacket, nylon baseball jackets, your classic coach jacket, basebal caps, ringer tees, stripe tees etc etc and then you got your canvas shoes, chuck taylors, nike cortez, puma suedes, adidas gazelles, converse one stars and your classic vans, i only rock with these shoes ONLY!! and i stack up on them whenever i can, different colours and all! i dont fuck with any other, or modern day shoe unless its for recreational purposes( modern day running shoe). all these styles have stood the test of time in my opinion and are still going strong, its even stronger than these modern day trends! but who am i to say.. each to there own

Wear what you like period not what’s popular not what’s trendy or what your age group wears I started a few years ago strictly wearing red black and brown and I refuse to change for anyone it makes me happy and a lot easier to mix and match pieces plus I get excited whenever I found a piece new or vintage In my size that fits my color scheme and is unique from pieces I already own I feel more in control by limiting myself
