Gorgeous, tasteful, clean and simple. Please remember that these spaces are designed to fit the client's requirements. This is obviously what the clients wanted and it is beautifully executed.
It looks more classic contemporary to me. It is beautiful!
a lot of people are complaining about the neutral palette, but if you listened to what she said the homeowner is a naturopath, so I'm guessing a peaceful, neutral Palette is what she desires. I thought the whole home is beautiful and serene. serene. it's all in what you desire
I think the complaint stems from the designer claiming this is a Mid Century aesthetic when Mid Century by definition was an era of very vibrant and warm colours in interior design. Nothing wrong with a neutral palette, but it ought to be called Scandinavian or Japandi in order for a correct use of terminology.
Are they complaining or sharing their views on the decor? When did we start hearing complaints when someone givea their feedback?🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️
@@obimalope8154 I stand by my statement. SOME people were complaining. Have a wonderful day
Wow. So much white. How unique.
Beautifully designed home. I love the walk in pantry with the exit door. I'm sure the family is very pleased with the results.
very nice vacation rental
It's a lovely home and beautifully designed, although it doesn't fit with what is typically referred to as mid-century modern from the 1950s era. It would have been nice to include a photo of the exterior after it was redone.
Beautiful well appointed , cohesive design, but I have to say, the size of their bungalow is palatial compared to the standard-sized three bedroom home I grew up in back in the 7's. I'd love to see a tour of a home that's modest and isn't decorated by someone who has deep pockets.
Beautiful and classy.
Where is the mid century modern?
Gorgeous. Perfect balance, with some drama. Not washed out
I absolutely love this home. Looks stunning 😍
The one thing that surprised me were the lack of drapes. Even in the bathroom the windows are bare.
It looks like a very tastefully designed showroom rather than a comfy home where a family actually lives.
@@iceprincessone7168 100% I'm so sick of white, it looks sterile and so overdone.
It's painful to see bookshelves without books. Does no one read anymore or have coffee table books related to the family's interests? Special art objects or a meaningful collectible are worth a place among books..
This is my dream home!!! Love it🌸❤
Love the open plan home. Beauty neutral modern style.
oh my God! absolutely beautiful!!
Beautifully designed house. I am curious though about whether some homes are specifically staged for the purposes of H&H videos? It would be lovely to see more tours of what the homes look like in their "natural" state (i.e., clean and organized, but with children's bedrooms that look like rooms for children). For example, I LOVED the tour of Mandy Milks' Victorian rowhome tour from H&H. It would help distinguish the homes from one another since no two family is alike.
H&H is a Canadian Magazine so the homes are styled/cleaned up to be photographed for the magazine and videos. Most of the homes in the magazine end up looking this way ie clean and unlived in.
The finishes are so good. I wonder what the exterior looks like since they put sliders on the front of the house. Also, it seems there are no window coverings which looks good for the video and pictures, but clearly not realty unless your home is tucked into a wooded lot.
I really struggle to see the particular Mid Century flair here. It seems very trendy and actually bordering on traditional (especially the bland colour scheme, the living room furniture and the tufted headboards)
Agree. More Studio McGee than MCM. I can see some hints but I don’t look at it and think MCM. I actually like the pallet but overall it looks like every other open concept house these days.
Agree as well. It's nice enough, but other than some cliched lights and furniture legs, not MCM.
That’s your opinion! It may seem bland to you, but your opinion doesn’t matter! The audacity of you, to be rude. With a name like that…well! Let’s just leave it there! BTW! The designer did an amazing job!!
@@dwalaaiken7733 Everyone is free to state an opinion and I wasn't rude. I love interior design and looking at it and critiquing it. Nothing is more boring than just fawning over something. My name is not read to be English by the way. There are other languages as well in this world and in my language it's the name of my beloved pet. 🙂
@@waugse I completely agree! As someone who grew up in the Mid-Century, this has very little that reflects that era. Where is the iconic furniture of that time or the colours? Just another HGTV-ified home!
All of the choices made the space look so much larger.
Well done in every way!
I love everything! Well done!
It's a beautiful decorative bungalow 🥰
Just wonderful
Looks like a shrine to a stainless steel refrigerator, restoration hardware and world market nick kacks.
Love it all!
I'm curious about a difference I've noticed between Canadian and American terminology. Homes such as this one, that are described as bungalows in Canada, are what we would call ranches or ranch style in the US, and are mostly post-WW2 and mid century. Homes that we call bungalows are generally more Craftsman style and mostly pre-WW2.
Yeah, Canada Bungalow usually means one level/story house in Canada. May have an in ground basement. I'm Canadian and I prefer Rancher, I've hear it used here too. Perhaps we just started using the terminology wrong and it caught on, so now abungalow is a rancher is a bungalow.
Beautiful❤ Excellent job!!🎉
Very nicely done totally my taste
Lindo!! Obrigada 🌷🌸🌼😉
Where are the lamps? That lounge could use some
I would be scared to live there like to spil coffee or something. Its beautiful but does not seem very homy.
MCM term is misplaced here. While there are a few elements that lean to MCM, this is clearly a contemporary home. Where are all the warm woods, forays into colour and distinct pieces MCM is known for?
I wish the sliding doors were custom and went to the ceiling. Really lets the place down. The main spaces are lovely, but really dislike the primary bathroom…..that will look, dated within 12 months. Thankyou for the tour. A beautiful space overall and lovely upgrade.
It's pretty but all I see in that huge room as a focal point is a fridge, should have panelled it
Beautiful home! Love the neutral color palette! :)
Looks nice. I wouldn’t mind having it all. That said, it ain’t MCM. Nice but not MCM.
Where did you get that large rug in the master bedroom plz? I’ve been looking for rugs for a few yrs now, when I saw it in this video, I said: “There’s the rug I need !” I love it! I need 3 matching rugs for my 3 bedrooms. Thank u!
It looks like the "Sackett Performance light grey rug from wayfair". You're welcome 😊😅
Where are the window coverings?
I really am tired of seeing these beautifully designed homes with absolutely no representation of the families who live there. There is no ‘character’ to these homes although it is very obvious that these designers have real talent. I love the British and European design/decorating ethos of owner personality showcasing loved and treasured items gracing each home on top of good design.
they got a bungalow that came with 3 young children? bit strange. 😄
It's beautiful but not midcentury at all.
Very nice. But do these people never own books?
Predictable and void of colour. Which I guess has been the preferred aesthetic for many, and is ultimately the homeowner’s choice. But in no way is the house representative of mid century modern! I’m not sure if the designer missed the assignment here or the homeowners wanted their own version of mid century.
Everything is beige
What material is the countertop
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿❤️❤️❤️❤️
Those are the kids rooms? How old are these kids, 50? 😏
Everything looks beautiful, but mid-century modern?? More like bland contemporary.
Every room looks the same
This is a ranch, not a bungalow.
If owner is so concerned with off gassing and toxicity she needs to lose the gas range read recent articles by Stanford and Harvard on the toxicity of gas ranges.
No way that dining table is 14' ! A 14' long dining table would surely fit more than 4 chairs on either side. Or am I just being fooled by perfect scale and proportions?
How does anyone maintain a home like that with 3 kids? It's nice but lacking personality. The bedrooms seemed very interchangable. Like staying in a nice hotel.
Mid-century design needs color.
That is horribly sterile.
How is anything Mid-Century here? It's all so cold and sterile. Since the client like natural elements, they could have used more wood or stone. The kitchen counter top looks like quartz and that is from natural. Even if I am staging a house, it should have some personality. Use petrified wood, paint a wall different color, use beams, wallpaper the ceiling, for the love of God please use color!
It's fine..... but very boring and uninspired. Nothing new or interesting about this look, nothing sets it apart from every other white/black/light wood mcm home
.
Neutrals, monochromatic, white on white….I would sack any interior designer who suggests this🙄🙄🙄
There is really nothing 1950s charm about this design. The kid's rooms look like guest rooms or hotel rooms. Just no personality, charm or creativity in sight. I wonder what the kids reactions were or do the parents even care along as they have this neutral, modern aesthetic that is becoming so tired at this point (if not done right).
What is the “no color” obsession these days? Neutrals really take something from you. Color gives something to you. That said this is nice for some.
No thanks, to the colours, would feel very nervous to use the place up, let alone to sit down.
Its so............Generic.
Stopped the vid 2min into it. Very neat. Very clean. Very boring.
"up-talking" is when a speaker turns every statement into a pseudo question by raising the voice at the end of the sentence. Please work hard to break this tedious speaking habit because it's unprofessional while everything else in video is VERY professional and perfect !!!
@JGRMTN JGRMTN It's interesting that you and others are so sensitive to this speech pattern. (I wonder - does it originate with Irish migrants to Canada?) This pattern is commonly heard in my country - from politicians to newsreaders to farmers and teachers. So we're mostly used to hearing it, and our auditory senses are not generally disturbed. There are some here though who do publicly decry the awfulness of "up-talking".😁
Beautifully "staged" house lacking any personal character of a "family living" there! So monochromatic, it's kind of sterile.
So boring. I saw the same things a million times.
Too blah, cheap looking accessories and too many open shelves to collect useless objects
I admire the transformation for the beauty it now possesses, stemming from a well-executed renovation. 🏡
