I drove for wilson in 2018/2019 pulling prime and i feel pretty much the same. The terminals were impressive, trucks were slow, dock times were outrageous, but fuel was cheap and rates were honestly good even then. I couldn't go back because dry van had spoiled me 😂. I really enjoy the freedom at schneider to run my own way. Most loads seem to be drop and hooks with at least a 24 window on pickup/ delivery. This really gives you the freedom to run how you want, you can even run regular hours, which in 10 years of driving, i couldn't find in any other otr position. If money is the only factor, i feel both can be equally profitable, but personally, i love the way schneider loads are set up and that's something prime couldn't do pulling refer. My main considerations in both personally. Prime: ran less miles but similar pay. Flipped running days and nights often. Schneider: More miles ran for similar pay. Freedom to run only days or nights, whichever you prefer.
Thanks for the breakdown fam! New sub here and current prime runner. Down payments are still 14k down for new drivers but they take 5k down until the truck arrives, then you have to pay the other 9k or forfeit the 5k and be sol lol
IMO all MEGA carriers are the same and it's more about the hustle you are willing to put in. A lot of people think this deal is all cake and it's not. You get out what you put in.
rule of thumb, stay away from companies with luxrious terminals!! first off, its more for ths office staff, second off tha drivers are who fund that, third, u make no money being a terminal rat. yea its nice buuut ive made more money at companies with a dirt lot than i ever did eith multiple terminals.
So I am on the last leg of my purchase at success. Get the title in May. For 100 bucks. Freight has been trash long dead heads long times on the load. I’m actually looking at options because all the messages almost daily are we have no freight you take what you get or sit 2 days.
@@LifeOfKO no joke dispatch sent that 90% of the fleet is actually running. So if we reject a load we will sit because they have no back up ppl. You would think that sales would be working a little harder to get freight but they keep relying on the customers that are contracted freight. But I’m looking at taking my truck elsewhere. Schneider is one of the options.
Can you do a walkaway lease every 8 months with Schneider? I’m out of the country 4 months out of the year so I’m only gonna be driving 8 months each year
@@LifeOfKO how about working a 4 on 4 off schedule as a lease operator? I’m unclear about how long one has to be out before earning enough to pay for all monthly expenses
If you plan to leaving every 4 months then leasing would be a waste of time. You’ll have to turn it in and get a different truck every time unless you pay it up for those 4 months. You’ll still be a rehire for Schneider after 30 days
the one thing i don't like about Schneider. Not even hands free...but you can talk to your trainer, team driver or anyone in the truck 😅 make it make sense
Great video you touched on a topic that a lot of new drivers are torn between
I see. A lot of people asked me about prime. Be safe.

Oh and I have an international that has a digital axle weight on the dash 😄 it reads 1200 pounds low but it's consistent, so still reliable lol
Lmfaoo lucky!! You spot on with that info. I 100% agree with you.

Man seeing you sitting at the table instead of a bed makes me jealous 😂

This the video I been waiting for man. Doing some saving and prep before I bring my truck from Prime to Schneider
Not liking prime?
@@LifeOfKO I'm just outgrowing how they do things. Graveyards appts and not being able to decide where I go
@DJmadbeatsOfficial yea bro. I feel you on that boss
Waited 7 hours in Richmond VA with that refer. Swore I'd never haul those again
🤣🤣🤣

Facts. I agree with you on that. 100%
Fantastic info…..Thanks so much. I really appreciate all your content…..Be safe sir!
Thanks for watching!
Outstanding Video!!!
Appreciate it.
Thanks, great info.
Thanks I’ll be going to Charlotte next month
Okay cool. I did my one year test there so it should be the same.
I was waiting on the Monday video to drop like the new j’s
🤣🤣🤣
The ace lease at prime is 5k down upfront then rest when truck comes in.
Ok ok. Good info.
Man the crazy part prime used to be the fastest truck on the road
Damn. Really?
Brother what kind of road test do sfi do I have heard a lot of things they do to keep you away
You have to couple to a trailer. Drive for like 10-15 mins around town and on the freeway. Come back back in a spot and that’s it. Nothing crazy.
Great content ,💯👍
That’s boss

@Eric9980 my boy sent me the screenshots of the messages. That’s crazy
Still 14k down at Prime plus any upgrades
Ok ok. Thought so. Appreciate that.

I’m sure you could. You’ll have to get rehired every time. Once you gone for 30 days you have to get rehired

Why you aint buy your truck from Prestige??
I was considered a first time buyer so they wanted 30%
Is Schneider really strict about the phone use
Yes they are
@@bobnewhart4318 ok but I thought they only had front facing cameras
Yes they strict. They only got cameras in the Sfi trucks and they front facing. My truck now they didn’t put a camera in it.

@TebTengri Lmfaoo facts
I see Schneider has a $5000 "lease on incentive"
What exactly is that
Like a bonus. Get it in payments.
What was ur hometime with Prime?
5 days a month
Loving the pink hat!
Prime is still $14K down plus any upgrades which you pay for upfront.
Oh okay. I figured.
Wutup bro!!!
What’s good boss
Do you get layover or detention pay?
Both at prime. Schneider I know we get detention pay. I never stayed somewhere that long to know.
