Logan Abbott and compared to a fully outlined and shot music video?? They don’t need to spend $500-600 on mixing. I could of made a better mix in 12-24 hours for nothing. Considering there budget doesn’t seem high I don’t believe they’d go to multi plat mixing and mastering engineers charging $500 minimum, obviously if they weren’t independent I’m sure that price would widely vary

But without revealing names I’ve talked to artists who offer mixing and mastering and it’s $350-500 for one song and they’re not multi plat. They’re in bands barely big enough to not have office jobs. Music videos also don’t need to be expensive. It completely depends on the band. If you were mixing and it’s free great, but also don’t know your product! I bet these guys spent a few hundred bucks on mixing. Usually if it’s free it’s cause the mixer hasn’t learned enough to charge yet. Money is not time completed it’s experience. There’s a sworn in music video shot with an iPhone in a uhaul trailer, so barely any budget. My band has a guy who does it real cheap for us but that’s only because of networking I’ve done to find him and am friends with a band he’s friends with. Haven’t done a music video yet but I know we won’t be using any money barely at all.
