I just bought the same pot from Amazon for frying shrimp and fish for hubby. I love this pot! I was using a ceramic cast iron deep fryer pan but I have induction and its hard to regulate temp. This little pot is awesome! If you deep fry got to have it!

Put one in my Camping box . With a single burner Butane stove , this little pot is awesome. Easier to control the temp ( up / down) than a cast iron which is fine for frying big batches but not delicate Tempura.

Thanks so much for this! Mine just arrived today and I was a bit apprehensive until I saw this

Nice! I am glad it helped. I really like it, especially for travel on fishing adventures. We do VRBO/AirBnB's around Floriday and you never know how the kitchen in the rental is set up. This makes it easy to have it in the travel food kit.

I just received mine after returning the elite 6 cup deep fryer. I loved it, I like the basket action like I’m a cook in a diner. Lol. But after 8 uses the interior coating started to peel off. Yikes. I went with this one due to stainless steel interior.
Eventually want to get a stainless steel high quality deep fryer frying ONLY in grass fed tallow (those seed oils are freaken danger danger).
After your excitement I may never find myself wanting to upgrade. This may do it for me. Thanks for the inspiration:)

Yes. And I like the simplicity of this and I use the strainer "spoon" as I tend to do smaller batches. We had a Cuisinart tabletop fryer, but it required so much oil to just flood the heating element and then to flood the basket area. This is definitely a minimalist setup, but works nicely. I prefer to avoid seed oils and use nut oils. For saute I definitely use clarified butter, but that would consume a lot of butter. I have been told that Avocado Oil is great, but I haven't used it yet.
I think the trick is to keep the temperature perfect and keep the batches small, that way whatever oil you use doesn't really get absorbed into the food.
Good luck I hope this works well.

@@longstrangejourney4776 awesome! Thanks for saying all that. Yes, I agree abt the oil flooding. Tallow is pricey ($170 for 36lbs). And I too have a big metal strainer spoon. I forget yet there it is hanging on my kitchen closet door in my face over a year now.
Now I’m really excited to start frying! 🙌

I noticed the temperature goes up to 200 degrees; what temperature do you cook fried shrimp?

    • @longstrangejourney4776
      @longstrangejourney4776  12 днів тому

Since it is straight outta Asia, the temperature gauge is in Celsius and not Fahrenheit, so that 200⁰C on the gauge is actually 392⁰F. It has a Red Zone on the gauge for the best temperature range for frying. I just keep it in that zone which is around 375⁰F.

Does the food stick to the bottom of the pot! I ordered myself one today

No. But I always move things around with a mesh spoon or an hook to make sure everything is free floating.

You think the green one is in stainless steel too ? So beautiful the green one.
The Strainer spoon is it 11 cm ou 13 cm one ?
And you have a storage oil container to strain oil ? If yes which one. Thank you !

Not sure about the green one. I love the simplicity of stainless steel. As for oil, I don't have a storage for oil that will be reused I have one for fat, but use it so little that I usually discard it due to age.
For oil, after I'm done frying something, I will use a simple hand held strainer and funnel to pour the cooled oil back into the container.

Pretty Easy. Just clean well after use incrementally and not let any oil stain patina build up.
