Bury your hydrophone and tightly pack the dirt around it. Makes a great geophone and you hear all the vibrations from stuff driving, people walking, Air conditioner running, burrowing animals and beetles.
Kandi Klover Hi Kandi! LOM just released an amazing Geophone and I hope go get it soon!
@@FreeToUseSounds Ooh that's awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing that video. I love the great sounds you get with everything.
Free To Use Sounds Don‘t know if you still need it but he currently has a pre order going. :)
Great vid. Just Pre-ordered the Usi Pro Pair. Use the older ones at work, love them!
Thats awesome! And you are lucky because Jonas has no clips for the USI
Nice to find your channel!
Very exciting, man. Was giving you some sonic love yesterday...almost always do, when in the mood to make noise now. Happy you got new tools. Making me want one and I don't even need one. :) Safe travels.
Hi Brap! Nice to hear from you! I hope everything is great in California! I think you need the Priezor :) I did my first recordings with it and its crazy what you can capture! Really crazy :)
Things are swell, thanks. I was looking at the Priezors some weeks back, saw them on Reddit, I think. Absolutely of interest...but why do I need one when you have one? :)
HaHaHa, thats so true :) I am going to create a electric library and then I will let you know when the first album is live! I will share it on "Ableton".
Album is up Brap! freetousesounds.com/electromagnetic-sound-effects/
Just starting into this awesome endeavor of recording ambient sounds... man, you're a great motivator and *teacher* ... Best regards from Alabama USA.
Greetings back and have fun recording sounds :)
Hi, I've been following your work for a while. It seems like you have a lot of equipment. Could you recommend some basic kit for a beginner? I want to take ambient sounds for video, and also do some sampling for music making. The only thing I have now is a Zoom H1. Thanks!
Yes, I love the F4. I have that one as well. I'm going to take your advice from another video and also purchase the Zoom F6. I like that you don't have a home base. Where your feet are and where you are together, is where home is
Hi Mary! Oh yes the F6 is a great recorder and a wonderful choice. We traveling the world for almost 5 years but right now home is in La Reunion until we can travel again. Who knows how long but we are fine.
The usi are killing 😮
Ha, you're like me, went from the F4 to the F8n! :-)
Yeah, Its a great recorder. Just recorder yesterday the F1 here in Singapore.
Hi, this is such a great source of inspiration. Which mic do you suggest for nature but also live music? I sold my Røde Stereo Videomic to upgrade and before I found your channel I was planning on buying two Røde NT5 or similar. Are Lom Usi Pro or Micro Usi Pro good for live music (indie/rock). Would be great to set up in a bag (like you do when going stealth) with the recorder so I could focus on filming at the same time.
Hi Hendrik, this is an older video and for live music I would not recommend the Usi. They are way to sensitive. If I would start out again, I would go with a Audio Technica 4025. Also keep in mind, only putting microphones on a bag requires still focusing on sound.
Ok, so you would even prefer the AT4025 over the Usi’s for ambient sounds? I have given up the idea of one mic for both ambience and music so I actually ordered the Micro Usi Pros yesterday and will use them for stealth recording. I’ll save up to a proper x/y like the AT4025 later, first I’ll have to start recording right 😉
Henrik Lindblom That’s right :) Start recording and see how it goes.
Free To Use Sounds now I have saved up for the BP4025 and bought it used from another fieldrecordist. Looking forward to try it out! Thanks for the tip!
Henrik Lindblom Lucky you! It’s a great microphone.

:)
Is the usi pro or the micro version better for nature ambient recording? Thanks.
They are both very similar and non is better then the other.
whats better about having more channels?
Having one major channel is the best.
I see that you use Zoom. I've started also using digital recordings with Tascam. Very similar but cheaper in price because I don't have a business just a hobby and money can be limited.
Oh yes Zoom has great products and always updating the product line.
Hi what was the name of the contact/hydro mics was it Limpid? I'm having trouble finding them online :) Thanks
Limpet Mics that is correct but I think he stopped making them.www.limpetmics.com/ The website is expired too :(
He has an update from October 2019 on Facebook explaining why: facebook.com/375426436240817/posts/842347119548744/
@@encosion Oh let me check that our really quick. Thank you Tim.
Looks like they may have stopped which is sad:( as their website is down with an error from squarespace...
@@MM4F That is correct. I bought an Ambient hydrophone the other day. Now I waiting for it. Its more expensive but the quality is amazing
would you say the mix pre is higher quality than the f8 ?
No I wouldn't
@@FreeToUseSounds thank you for this. as its hard to get it where i am, wheras the zoom is available. i started with 4n pro
Hlw sir, I'm a beginner... So suggest me for a good handy recorder for location record
Hi! Well I have this and several other equipment videos on the channel. It also depends on your budget. If you have an idea how much you like to invest, I can narrow down your options.
@@FreeToUseSounds make a video about the best 100€ setup, 200€ setup, 300€ setup etc
@@jhonnycastro383 Yeah I can think about something like this.
@@FreeToUseSounds it Will be awesome because you have a lot of people asking about budget setups
