Hi Anthony, where I stay, its not often that building work is put off for it being too warm, so as you say, it is what it is, and enjoy the weather..☀️😊🤣 Lovely pup as well, your daughter is clearly a little bit happy about the arrival….. 🤩 good move…👍🏼
It’s a fibreglass thing. I’d rather it be completed in as optimal conditions as possible to allow Matt time to do what he does and hopefully get the most awesome results with minimal issue. She loves dogs beyond belief mate. It was always a win for me. She a daddy’s girl as well. 🇯🇵🇯🇵💪🏻👌🏻
What a gorgeous little pup Tony mate , can I suggest putting the air curtain at the other end of the pond otherwise your just going to stop debris going down the skimmer , at the other end it will help push crap towards the skimmer , Can I ask if you have measured the inside of your block work since you have finished , just by counting the blocks I reckon your looking at nearer 3000 g around 2800 maybe , where you had the level on the nexus is ideally where you normal water level should be so unless your pond is going to filled to overflowing maybe do a rethink on the hieght it’s sat at buddy , sorry just trying to help you out , great job so far, and the koi are looking great 😎😎👍👍
Hi Martin, thanks for the feedback. I am looking at moving the air curtain as you are correct regarding pushing the debris back from the skimmer. I think I am going to relocate it under the bakki shower. Regarding the nexus placement, I have measured from the lip on the Nexus which sits higher than the top of the pond. I am looking to get the maximum from the nexus. What would you suggest as I trust your feedback mate.
@@KraftyKoi what you need to decide tony is where your normal pond water level is going to be in the pond, and then place the hieght of the nexus so that the lip you had you level sat on is about the same hieght this will be the level of water inside the nexus with out pumps running , if you go on to the EA web site and go to the nexuses you can down load a pdf of the instructions which has so good diagrams which explains it better mate , 😎😎👍
Great update Anthony and a great visit to Lee. Absolutely adore the puppy your daughter was overwhelmed by the looks of things we have two dogs one is a puppy. Pond’s looking good can’t wait to see the finished article.
Thanks Martin, yeah Lee and I speak often mate he’s a top boy. Poppie is in her element, she thought we was travelling to but a Koi so wasn’t overly excited. The puppy was outside waiting for us on the doorstep and she had no idea 😂😂. The ponds coming on well now, it won’t be long before it’s up and running. Still quite a lot to do but I will complete it after the fish are in I think. ££ is tight now so little and often.
I'd put the air bar at the opposite side of the skimmer. The bubbles then will force all the stuff on the top of the pond back down towards the skimmer and it will also provide oxygen at the far side of the pond as all the returns are at the filter side. I'd love to nip down and spend the day with you and your fish one of the weeks. I've so much to learn about koi before getting my own, keep up the great work mate
Fair enough mate. Are you doing the Koi show next weekend, it’s going to be an epic event mate. If so I’ll be there, be sure to come and say hello bud.
Aw that's an awesome surprise for your daughter gorgeous pup 😍 lol,d at you tripping up we do it all the time!! I'd do the door wide enough to get the nexus out on the filter room should you ever need to for any reason, better to future proof then struggle later on 🤟
@@KraftyKoi I'm sure they will be fine give them time, we have the same with our 3 hard work but worth it, pond will be there for a long long time mate no rush, we've not done much to ours for a few weeks either! All good things come to those that wait and all that 🤟
Having the air bar under the skimmer will stop it from working properly bubbles will push the detritus away from skimmer mouth. Looking good should be a great pond when finished
If you ever have a serious leak in the filter house you may give next door neighbour a deluge as you don’t appear to be building a rear wall. I know this can happen from experience when my 4” bottom drain came away suddenly ( thought it had been welded but apparently was just friction lol)
@@KraftyKoi very wise lol …another point I found there is never enough room in a filter house to move so the maximum number of double union ball valves helps when replanning the filter system as you go . It then becomes a quick unscrew & change rather than getting the saw out
I think I’ve planned six or seven in total. Seems like an overkill but better to have to many than not enough for the exact reason you’ve stayed above mate.
Puppy looks cute. Build it coming along nicely, won’t belong before the fish are back in, they’re looking good. Are you and Lee starting a Koi Regiment, there’s a lot of ex-servicemen on KoiTube? Stay safe and well 👍🏻
@@KraftyKoi lol 😆 I love that 🤣 you'll find out when your finished 👍 but how do you know its gunna be 4000 gallon if you don't know how big its gunna be? 😅
@@KraftyKoi sweet 👌 I've seen some people install them as a separate filter straight from the pond effectively turning it into a poo strainer and had all soughts of problems with bacteria and parasites
I know mate, it isn’t designed for that! People think it can act as a mechanical filter and that the media will serve as a biological filter at the same time. Some people also push water far to fast through it. It’s designed at optimal 5000lph that’s what I will aim for.
Looking good Anthony, won't be long and you'll be sat there enjoying them 👍👍
Very true Andy. Still have plenty to do mind but I can continue after the pond has been filled up.
It just gets more interesting
wait until the fish are in

Looking good matey shame u can't make fikter house bigger give u more space inside
I’m not overly bothered mate. I don’t want to spend a lot of time in there. As long as I can do what I need for cleaning etc it should be fine.
The new build is looking good and moving forward nicely at the Krafty garden..😉👍
Getting there slowly mate. Puppy slowed my build down as I needed to supervise both dogs to prevent fatality.

Good point Tom. I will look to move it under the shower mate. I hadn’t thought of that. Appreciate your comment.

It's coming on nicely. The only thing. Is the Tempest after the Nexus yeah?
It is right at the end of the pipework, so it’s going Nexus, air-source heat pump, UV, tempest on one return of three.

Thanks you’re a star and koi collection is quite local to me
Tell them Krafty sent you 😉
I would put some double doors in filter house just in case the nexus ever wants removing for a drum upgrade
Not allowed too, the Mrs does get her own way sometimes 😂
