Eu ouvia no ensino médio. Ao mesmo tempo em que gosto da música, ela me causa lembranças esquisitas.
Imagine you genetically spliced Opeth and Katatonia together. You now have Katatopeth. It doesn't sound new, but it sounds fucking awesome because it's the marriage of two awesome sounding bands that have different but similar sounds. It's old news, but it just works extremely well.
Now imagine you strip Katatopeth of all the secret ingredients that makes it awesome. You extract all the factors that make the songs memorable and impactful.
What you're now left with is an unoriginal hybrid of two great bands, but all the greatness has gone. It's just a simple, boring demonstration of the general sound, rather than any considerable level of song writing.
That's what this sounds like to me. If you have potential to like this genre of metal and have never heard anything like it, it's really good......but anyone who gets into this type of music is inevitably going to end up discovering Opeth and Katatonia. Once that happens, you realise the full potential of this sound, and how relatively diluted this sounds.
