- Adding a CleanPower GBC mod and replacing the C32 Capacitor.
Running numerous mods on a single console can cause power issues and create an audio hum / hissing / buzzing / whining. When running my Game Boy Color with retroglow LED lights and a Flash cartridge, I was receiving terrible audio feedback and it reduced battery life. Installing a CleanPower GBC and replacing the C32 Capacitor I was able to significantly reduce the audio hum and increase my overall battery life.
Both upgrades were purchased from handheldlegend.com

I have clean power, amp and osd5 screen, had noise only coming from one channel, I changed the points and I now have sort of like a fan noise, kind of like air, it's not a hiss anymore, and tbh I kind of find it delicious, is as if the gbc had an internal cooling fan.
😂 delicious. I find the upgraded capacitor + the clean power works magic for cleaning up all that noise

Do you know if that same C32 capacitor is compatible with a Gameboy Pocket??
Hello, I do not believe so. I would buy the 4 pack “Game Boy Pocket Capacitor Replacement Set” from Retrogaming
@@GameBoyMart Most likely is gonna work. As long as it's more uf than the original one and as long as both are electrolytic capacitors, it will not cause any harm
of course you shouldn't go 2000uf since that would be way too much and the gameboy might not handle that at all, but 680uf should be fine
do you think this can be added with the rechargeable battery mod? I have speaker buzz that i'd like to get rid of but I have the funnyplaying battery mod that uses some of the same connections. I added the amp also to see if that fixed anything but it just made it louder.
I would suggest changing out just the capacitor first and seeing if that reduces the hum. If not, I’d remove both mods, add the clean power then add back the battery and speaker mod
@@GameBoyMart I did change all the capacitors when I did the amp mod but I'll get a clean power and see if that takes care of it. Thanks.
@@jowiltse nice, did you install the 680UF capacitor that handheld legends sells or what it generic capacitors?
@@GameBoyMart it was one from retro gaming I believe so it might be a generic
@@jowiltseAll capacitors do is save energy to make energy flow not flunctuate
