  • Parlour guitars; the ever faithful companion of the space conscious travelling musician and pop singer-songwriter alike. With the market for these compact acoustics ever-expanding; how does a brand gain the edge? Canadian luthiers Art & Lutherie may have just broken the mould with the Roadhouse Q-Discrete. I do not think the "natural" (mic'd up) sound has that much reverb! How are we supposed to know what it sounds like acoustically if you jam it up with massive amounts of reverb?

Ok, I'm sold. Heard Gurf Morlix play one of these pre-pandemic and he make it sing. Thanks, Stuart.

Lovely reviews and great playing ..what a beautiful guitar at any price point ..I bought myself a beautiful Gibson J 15 ..now want a parlour guitar ..At any price that sounds the business ..does what it says on the tin at a great price ....If I heard it blindfolded I would say it’s a very high end acoustic..Gorgeous great demo

I own an earlier Norman Parlour, no pickup as yet. I may install a LR Baggs under saddle unit.
But the tone an vibe is very close to this A&L. Great pluck for your buck!

I really like the look of this guitar! Do they make 1800s Parlor Nylon-String Acoustic Guitar...? I'd like that!

Bad distortion when plugged in 6:36 is there something else causing the distortion? Bad set up with the interface?

And it's only through one side, too, just one of the two headphones.

Is this guitar to bright to be played with a pick?

      Yes. It's a passive pickup.

There is a 9 v battery velcroed to the inside opposite the controls. Perhaps yours is different. Nice review.

I don't need new man soap. Please UA-cam, for the love of all things sane, place some new ads.

Why no sound when you play? This is not helpful. I’m out.
