@@rustyvull-i68 I'd disagree there, in the first ever trailer they WERE taking the darkness seriously (the scene with fin and Jake is a good example.) The trailer In general was actually pretty cool with a tense atmosphere. This? Absolutely deflates it. I actually like the idea of using the darkness as a metaphor for the internet, but they gotta handle it with some class ya know? I feel like emojis and a ton of outdated internet lingo is not only incredibly cringe, but a bad way to represent the internet in general.
But anyway if you like it, that's good for you. I'm not a fan though

I really like they did the pilot. The way that the two main characters interacted with the darkness and how casually they are just casually self aware that they are in a show is so awesome. It was also very entertaining to see how Pibby's child like nature slowly started to collapse as they strayed for from how their show normally runs.
This show's cancellation was the internet's darkest days.

Since they already made an animatic for the pilot episode, I'm pretty sure they'll just animate the rest, release the pilot episode, and see if it'll get the green light. When I thought the show was cancelled, I heard it got extended. There's still hope for this. I think the reason this show is taking a while is because they're putting nearly every single cartoon we know into this one show

I understand that it was green lit for two seasons, that’s usually how TV works, but you have to look at this from several different perspectives. Think about the number of cartoons that have been just dropped onto Max and left to die while Velma got all of the advertisements. It’s the Starfield of animation.

Part of the reason why they couldn’t release the show is because of copyright and characters that were supposed to be used in the show. It was too much money to get the license for all of the characters, the other part is because they were working on crap like Velma.

@@ajandbbCreator confirmed the show is never happening. Also, this is an animatic which is meant to give a cohesive plan for what an episode would be like. There are several series that have animatics that were never fully made into episodes. It’s a very common practice to do so. This existing does not indicate at all there is episodes in the work. Animatics are simply blueprints for how an episode could turn out if it ever happens.

This is literally an animatic not meant to be released to the public, so they can use a lot of copyrighted material as placeholders for the final product. For example The Owl House leaked animatic had King's crown as an image of the Burger King crown so the artist doesn't have to redraw it multiple times.

The reasoning is that there wasn't a place to put the show, licensing from all the shows most shows that crossover costs a lot of money the emoji or the spongebob background wasn't going to be an issue just an animatic and yt thing, and the show is a bit of risk to create
They would have just changed it then, it wouldn’t be that hard to make something similar but still legally distinct, they don’t own the rights to emojis as a concept because android has their own.

I think what's going on at around 8:16 is that Pibby lost connection with the viewers. So he doesn't hear them from what I know. Then, when she was finding the differences by herself, it was like the differences were tiny even though the differences were easy to notice. It seemed like she got so used to the viewers solving problems for her that she didn't realize how easy they really were. (Now I know that the show will most likely never get an episode 2 (let alone a complete episode 1). but I thought I should bring that up.)
Either that or since she's in a pres-school show the viewers probably switched off the channel cause the children were scared of the darkness.
If you think about it, this is actually really good now that this got leaked if everyone sees this and show as much love as they did when everyone seen the trailer they’re going to make this if not, that’s a lot of backlash they’re gonna go through especially with Velma lurking around with a season 3 (hopefully not)😭

Even if there's almost no chance this will become a show, I would wait 20 years for this to happen if I needed to, it's the one thing that entertained me during a hard time in my life. Sad to see this awesome concept get rejected and other shows that nobody wants get greenlit for a bunch of seasons. I hope this happens one day...

Watching this reminded me of when I was asked to be on a survey for like new shows an show concepts, funny enough one of them was learning with pibby, but I didn't see just the animatic of episode one I saw the animatic an a full partially animated intro, some scenes were fully animated with storyboard art of what was supposed to happen an animatics for both episode one an some storyboard of episode two but it wasn't fully done so I saw script lines an storyboard art. So I can confidently say I was someone that was on a survey that got to witness pibby long before it was going to be something on adult swim.
How lucky you are bro, honestly, learn with pibby would be a very good program.
So we now know that episode 2 was at least storyboarded… interesting…

For just an animatic pilot, it's really good and had so much potential. CN deciding to just shelf the project is just awful on their part.
They could have created such a great show yet squandered the possibilities of ever making it a reality. It's truly heartbreaking to see that this will be the closest we'll ever get to a Pibby: Apocalypse show.

i find this version of the void interesting cause the mystery it had with just being a void with no explanation in the publicly released clips make it intimidating and compelling. this meme replicating cartoon characters amalgam seems to give a whole different tone. how i see it is a commentary on how a lot of big companies (including CN, AS and WB) all are participating in the multiverse/crossovers and rebooting trend, where they take beloved characters either reboot them in this time with hip new lingo for this gen, or they are making massive or highly anticipated crossovers, like the MCU movies use to be. its not inherently about the memes being created organically from individuals online, its more about how companies will try to post memes or insert them into their IP's and media's to try to "fit in" or relate to todays generation in order to make it trend and some do but for the opposite reason, they see right through the disingenuous ploy to make an inside joke that they clearly dont get.
You know that Cartoon Network and them could’ve made a billion dollars with this but they didn’t.
this would have been a really good series based on the pilot. shame the rights are being gatekept from the creator so the show can’t become an indie.

According to one of the co worker, cartoon network couldn't find a place for it and dodge already got rejection multiple times from executive( probably WBD shit).
Everyone's complaining about Velma season 2. Fact is, though; it was only one season split into two. This is a regular practice done so that companies can get two seasons without having to pay gor the second one. On the bright side, it might mean that we won't get a season 3 for that train wreck. Unless the hate watching gives it enough views for them to give it a third. In that case, I think people will start leaking I.P addresses out of hate for the show. Understandable.

I think the darkness is going to be more like an AI sort of approach, where the more shows it consumes the more it learns and the more tactics and complexity it gains, making it more and more creepy as the show would’ve progressed. Cause the trailers definitely showed something a lot more eerie
I always thought the vision was that the darkness was the abstract concept of the chaotic internet taking over shows. Not that it was a bad thing, but that we sometimes corrupt and mangle these things online as a result of everyone being able to comment and make art for a show. The internet would be scary to the structured people of tv shows
I think we should’ve still given it a chance. Remember how adventure time started? Pretty silly, but then the story grew more complex and expanded beyond from what was expected. The trailer for Pibby is pretty grim, remember that this is just the pilot. As the show would’ve gone on the darkness would’ve grown more aggressive as it went on, dodge showed some of the designs a corrupted Yosemite Sam, safe to say it’s pretty scary.
I'm pretty sure that was removed because the final cut that AS used in the promo had none of that.

Since this appears to be an earlier draft of what would become scenes for the trailer, I believe this was created before it was uploaded to the adult swim channel, as it wouldn’t make sense to recreate the same scenes. This also tells us that the internet meme darkness iteration was probably cut or at least watered down.
But that’s just a theory…

It sucks that this show isn’t getting greenlit. Hope Dodge gets the chance to make it into an indie show, sure, we won’t have the major push the Warner Bros. characters have, but it would’ve been an amazing opportunity. Also, I also hope the voice actors of the show find better acting jobs. Pibby’s actress actually sounds phenomenal! I wish she and the other actors find projects where they belong and actually work well!

i’m just gonna say it this show deserves a second chance
As sad as Pibby was cancelled,it did one good thing,it really predicted the tragedy and fate of Warner Bros. and it's subsidaries once they merged with Discovery and brought the studio into a really dark age with project cancellations,the pruning of Cartoon Network with it's original headquarters and online website shut down,reduced to 9 hours, and giving Adult Swim more mainstream,removing content off Max,and tax write-off's. As WB is still alive and doing well in spite of it's infamous parent company making these infamous cost-cutting decisions,they need to make CN important again and sell Pibby to another company(probably Amazon,they would gladly accept the show),Disney(through 20th Television Animation),and Paramount Global(through Comedy Central,since it would be like Drawn Together for a new generation). God fucking damnit. I hate living in the reality where this show never got green lit. This would have been HBO’s peak. I’m confident that after the pibby cancellation, the hbo will start its downfall. There’s no way the green lit 2 seasons of Velma isn’t of pibby and coyote VS acne.
Wow - What a masterpiece of a pilot episode, I know Pibby unfortunately didn’t get greenlit but it did receive another extension for unknown reasons.
Why isn’t a masterpiece like this reality, why isn’t Velma cancelled, why didn’t clone high’s reboot receive another season? Indie cartoons are great and all but when will actual cartoons be resurrected?
