For those wondering why Shane hasn't been able to take it to the next level, a couple of factors I noticed was some limited opportunities so that he wasn't able to fine tune his craft through actual game-time play, and then when he does get some opportunities he's not consistently sharp, then he ends up getting decreased minutes again, and the cycle continues. So yeah, Shane had a good opportunity with the Knicks but at this point there are mental and court IQ development and experience that Shane may be a bit behind on, which tends to cause poor play judgement and decision making. Obviously he's not big or very strong, and although that's not a guarantee that a player will struggle it certainly can be a disadvantage or at least presents itself as extra obstacles to overcome. So he lacked some consistency, misses plays, makes some poor decisions and can turn it over. On the upside, he certainly has skill and speed and is solid with his handle. I always enjoyed watching him play and have viewed him as an underdog. Let's see if the Nets' style can create an opportunity for Shane to get minutes and keep developing and fine tuning his craft.
Not a good handle. Did u see that turnover against raptors that cost them the game. I wanted shane to be great but he honestly sucks. Can't shoot, can't dribble, can't finish, he can drive cuz he is quick and can pass a little. Glad knicks didn't resign him. As a nets fan, this is like insurance just in case he becomes good.
Ken R I swear people come to comments and talk shit about basketball players like they can ball themselves everyone can't make the transition from college to pro that does not mean he's garage or can't play jus wasn't ready for the transition but he can ball
Yuvraj Singh Seems like he would be a nice fit with the Nets, IF he played a similar role and/or similar plays were called for him, as the plays which are called for Parker in SA. Cause he's really good at switching directions, and is relatively quick and agile, he improves that Jumper, triple down screen, all day.
This kid plays at one million miles per hour or at least thats what it seemed as when he was on the knicks. If he learns to slow it down a little and actually run an offense he might have a chance to stick somewhere.
the thing about Larkin is that even though he's really fast, he almost never looked to use his speed to push the ball off of misses, he would just bring the ball up, wait around for a screen and dribble around and not really go anywhere. most of the time he'd just end up taking a long jump shot. defensively he didnt look to use his quickness to disrupt passing lanes, and he had trouble seeing over defenses because of his height. when he did get into the paint he typically looked to avoid contact, which is why he'd end up taking these wild shots or he'd pick up his dribble in a bad spot and would turn the ball over. after phil traded JR Smith, shumpert, and prigioni, and considering that calderon was injured, Larkin had a huge opportunity, and he failed to capitalize on it.
Chris Lujan The Knicks have given him an opportunity! He's a very hesitant player that seems to lack confidence at times. Super fast but his small frame very clearly diminishes his contribution on the court.
Antwon ton You can't play well when others around you can't play well, unless you're LeBron James or Kobe and obviously Larkin is not. He can def be a useful backup or maybe if he improves more, a starter
Telling by the given stats he needs to work on his consistency and increase his shooting attempts other than that his consistency and practice shown by his performance is prominent in his displayed performance on this collage of videos.
I have no idea what the plan is with the Knicks. Signed Melo to a max contract, traded Shumpert, Smith and Felton, cut Amare, traded Hardaway, drafted Porzingis, traded Larkin, signed Afflalo and have 8 FA's this summer, lastly, it doesn't seem like they are chasing a single player. I mean, I head LA, or Jordan, but I dunno.
Yuvraj Singh Always rated Larkin, and if he improves his 3 ball... he could be very JJ Barea-esque for us next season, haven't seen much from T-Rob, but seems like he'd be a more well rounded version of Plumlee, got a bit of post game, can step out and nail the shot, good sense on the offensive glass, good off the ball movement, etc, drafting CM, RHJ, and signing Boatright and Alexander to the SLT was good as well... But it's 'ALL GOOD' on paper. Gotta see what the season brings. The Nets have 4 point guards. I also don't know what their plans are with JJ and D-Will. And AA and MT3. But a roster with... Lopez Young Bogie Teletovic Robinson Johnson Williams Larkin Jack Blake Brown Jefferson Jordan Karasev McCullough RHJ Looks great as a 'First Cut'... but how much can player like Kasarev, Brown, Jefferson, McCullough, RHJ Jordan, really offer the Nets? I mean unless, Karasev comes shooting lights out, he won't be much use. I mean unless Brown comes in having a reliable off the dribble jump shot, a decen drive to the rim and the ability to nail the occasional open 3 from the wing or baseline, he won't be much use. I mean, Jefferson is great, shows a great willingness to improve, but will he have a decent post game, jumper and defence to get letgit minutes behind Lopez and Young? Perhaps with Tele or Robinson. I mean, McCullough is probably out for the season. RHJ, I really enjoy this kid, call me crazy, but I see D-Wade/LBJ type athleticism in this kid, but will he have a jump shot by November? Jordan gave you good minutes last year (when he got minutes), but, will he get minutes? Though, I like a rotation of; Williams Johnson (assuming both are still here come training camp) Larkin Jack Blake/RHJ Bogie Teletovic/Karasev Robinson Brown Jefferson Lopez Young The shxt thing the NBA doesn't have is 'loaning players out', if we could I don't know 'loan' out D-Will and Johnson (meaning we would split the bills with the team he's loaned to for the season - say pay 24 million combined for both instead of nearly 50, while the other team pays the other 25 or so.) That'd be great. A. It would make the NBA more exciting, because 'shxt teams' could all of a sudden become 'decent' and go from projected lottery to potential playoff team and B. We wouldn't be stuck with those scrubs. If we could literally just dump JJ's salary somewhere and get maybe 1 or 2 decent players in return and waive the rest or whaetver. That'd be great. So far, it's been decent on paper, though, the summer. Really need to sort out our PG dilemma, though. Neither Larkin, Blake, Jack or Williams is the answer going forward. With that said, atm, I'd take Larkin, Blake and Jack over D-Won't. I seen Brown, Jefferson, Bogie and Karasev in the gym (judging by the Social Media link on nets.com - if I'm Hollins, I'm looking at giving those guys bigger minutes next year), I ain't see no Jack, Johnson and especially Williams in the gym, I dunno bout Thad Young or Lopez either, but the old saying is: Champions are made in the off season. Lopez can work on his passing, drop step, spin move off the dribble or in the post, Thad Young can work on his 15-18 foot jumper, rebounding and defending, and D-Will has to completely reinvent himself.... but these guys all busy in Disneyland with their kids or buying property.
You know this guy is extremely fast when he makes Isiah Thomas or Kemba Walker looks slow

Shane is my favorite!!
He was a beast coming out college low key steal for the Knicks
Yeah he's a steal that contributed to the Knicks getting the 4th pick in the draft lol what are you talking about steal
He's a athletic point with a good handle could fit into any teams system

This kid looks quick and gets to the rim nicely. Now he is a Celtic. Is it the winds of change?

He must have slowed down a little bit huh?
@@ozanyemez6402 yes.
Larkin doesn't get enough credit for what he does. He is 5"10 and has the shortest wingspan in the nba where wingspan means everything.
He seems like he could fit well on the Spurs of the Warriors

Very good player he's still young though and has a lot to learn.

yeah
thats a thoughtful comment,, i could learn from this..thank you
He could be a solid pg like Mike Conley or Isaiah with the right team that is
Knicks getting blown out in 80% of the highlights. Lmao
Let's be honest, he's not going to be an Allstar but if some teams just gave him a real opportunity he could contribute
Chris Lujan The Knicks have given him an opportunity! He's a very hesitant player that seems to lack confidence at times. Super fast but his small frame very clearly diminishes his contribution on the court.
Antwon ton it was his first full season and the Knicks were absolutely garbage. Larkin is a PnR guard. The Knicks offense was a terrible fit for him.
Antwon ton You can't play well when others around you can't play well, unless you're LeBron James or Kobe and obviously Larkin is not. He can def be a useful backup or maybe if he improves more, a starter
