So glad you are back after 8 months!!! When I saw your video today I said “Yay; he’s back “, out loud. 😂 I’ve always loved your vibrant , loose watercolours and you have helped me a lot to get into watercolour painting (which I am not very good at ) but enjoy immensely! Just for the record I think you draw very well which helps paintings a lot! Keep up the great videos and please know a lot of us really really like your work. Enjoy your talent and gift.
I really like how you've kept it so light. Also, it is very helpful to see how you approached a busy subject and kept it loose. Thank you, and I'm glad you posted again.
I want to tell you that I think this painting was really creative. Too many British watercolorists seem to do dark, grey, brown, muddy and such. They paint great but seems dreary, like a rainy day with clouds every day all the time...yellow horizon and blue sky. I hope you continue to explore happy colors and vivid settings.
Thank you Patrick for another superb demonstration. I've been a fan for a few years and love what you do. Your paintings are an inspiration to me and I'm sure to many other amateur artists. Your use of strong colour resulting in vibrant works of art is very appealing.
First time I’ve watched you, THANKYOU very clear , you don’t waffle on about things that have nothing to do with the painting like some, your amazing and you make it look so easy. So I’m tempted to have a go.
Patrick, your videos are both intimidating and motivating. I hear myself say I could never do that. And then I hear myself answer to just listen, look and give it a try. Please know that you bring joy to my life. All the best to you...stay in touch.
Great to see you back. Although I've been a fan for a long time, I especially like this painting as you have achieved your goal of painting loose and bright. Well done.
I had just found you when you disappeared . So pleased you are back , l love this painting and the advise you give on how you achieve this lovely result . Thank you Patrick , I hope you don't disappear for so long again !
Great to see you back Patrick and another fantastic video. Making me want to have a go at one of my favourite photos I took of the harbour and boats in Torquay, I'll give u a mention on my channel. Thanks for sharing once agn. Do also love Lirons channel too 😉
It's great to see you back Patrick. I like this painting very much and especially appreciate how well done the contrast is. Thanks for sharing. Patricia
Thanks for asking Patrick. I've not posted anything in almost a year - long story. I will be moving in a couple of months and will be able to record videos then. I'm looking forward to getting back at it.
Absolutely brill Patrick... it's mevagissey without a doubt.(the wife and me have had a few beers by the harbour wall) ... thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise... I'm Very much a beginner and you've given me the confidence to try something different and a bit more challenging... I'm now scouting for some local scenes around the Essex coast... regards Dave....
Great to see you, you look great and hope all is well. It is very strange but I looked at your site last night and told my husband that I hope you have a little time for us in the future. Sparkle sounds great and we enjoy your water scenes, wow did you get the get it in this one with the cotman paints. Now we need you to give us some hints.👍🏻🧐
Excellent ! Your style is mesmerizing! I am enjoying your videos, love your technique! Thank you for all you do to help understand values etc of watercolor!
Sooo Happy you are back again....I think you are one of the best on you tube !!!!! Yes I like Liron too......I managed to get the book he recommended before he recommended it so I was pleased when he reviewed it...Skip Lawrence was the artist Anyway please keep painting I love your work 🎨❤️
Yeah so glad your back. Hope your sticking around. Have been watching for you for several months. I know it's hard to keep everything going. Question if I may? How do you get your paintings off the Bromley boards? I have two of them and trying to remove the painting every one I have done has been spoiled by tears. Now I just tape the paper on top. What's your secret? Thanks
Aeriol Nicols What I tend to do is get a steel ruler lay it as close to the edge as possible and with a very sharp craft knife cut the painting free. Trying to take the painting off I find can risk creasing it.
Oops, you've misspelled Mevagissey in the video title! Brilliant tutorial, love the reflections and ripples. I'll be in Mevagissey at the end of next month, magical place, unless you happen to be driving along the incredibly narrow streets and meet another car traveling in the opposite direction!
So glad to see you back. I found your channel in January but then there were no more videos >< Your paintings are fantastic! Regarding paper stretching I find water activated tape coupled with staples works well. Also I use masking tape over that to create a 1cm boarder. Keep up the good work!
When I return from vacation mid September I'm joining skillshare to access your lessons. Ive already done the boat on beach last year. Wondering if you have plans to add more lessons this year?
Hi Mike there will be more courses. I’m in the process of putting one together. Should be ready in the next month. Thanks for your comment and interest.
Can you help me with finding a water colour board to stretch the paper over? My local shop, Cass Art, doesn’t know of anything. Masking tape doesn’t hold it flat and stretched. If it’s over a board how is it secured over the board edges. Thanks. Libby Plane.
Great to see you back around Patrick
Casper Uldal Olsen Thanks Casper . Hope your painting is going well.
@@PatrickLeyGreaves i dried up for a while during spring, but im happily back at almost daily practice now.

I’m in London UK. I have now purchased water based glue stick tape and wider masking tape
Works very well.
Fab. clip, thank you Patrick. What and where can I get a stretcher-board... ? do you soak the paper first before stretching it ?
When I return from vacation mid September I'm joining skillshare to access your lessons. Ive already done the boat on beach last year. Wondering if you have plans to add more lessons this year?
