    For whatever reason, that I don’t know, I love boxes, the small blue box is great

      Right? It's a really fun little box. I'll have a video updating what we're doing with these boxes in the near future.

    Hi Mike! I don’t have any idea for the big toolbox but the little might make a cool watercolor kit. If that is a tin one then magnets under the paint pans and some clips with magnets to hold stuff. Thanks for posting this video!

      Oh, that's a good idea. Make your own little custom palette.

    Those little milwaukee knives are so great! I work in masonry/construction and use it to open pallets of stones, cement bags, landscaping fabric, plastic ties, drainage hoses, and all types of things. Been using the same one for about a year and it's been extremely solid!

      Yep. It's a great knife for that kind of thing. This one was going to go out into the gardening bag, but I haven't done it yet. I love that I can just replace the blades and not worry about messing them up.

    I love the steel tool box -- it looks like a useful and sturdy item. The Midori fountain pen has the same downward curve to the nib, which they call a "bird's beak" In rhe pen instructions, it says that the nib is designed to handle a wider range of pressures when writing, making it suitable for beginners.

    Hi Mike- Great video; thank you! The small, blue box looks great to keep desktop for frequently used pens. Have a wonderful week and best regards!

      Yep, you could keep a few pens in one.

    I just ordered a Trusco toolbox on amazon with the intention of using it for some of my ink samples and smaller bottles. I didn't realize when I bought it that Toyo makes the tool boxes for Trusco until I saw a review earlier today.

    • @inkdependence
      @inkdependence  5 місяців тому +2

      I didn't know that, either, until after I bought these. I got a matching box from Trusco, and it's the same thing at like half the price. So strange.

    Even if you don't want to buy toolboxes in the immediate future, the Toyo news letter is so delightfully, innocently mid.. Like 'We're celebrating Mothers' Day.... buy a toolbox that's filled with dried flowers...perhaps? This is a good idea, isn't it?" Or "Breaking news everybody! We got stickers now...Well, we got one sticker. Order something please, we'll give you...like, 5 stickers perhaps, yes, all the same sticker, don't be so pushy please."

    Curious how the smaller toyo boxes fit or maybe even stack inside the large box.

    Love the homage to the 743 fingernail!

      The green one? lol, not an homage, just a clue as to when I recorded those videos. I only had that nail painted for about a week. :-P

    I have the midori dip pen and yes it gets a lot of ink stains over use. Kinda fun

    • @inkdependence
      @inkdependence  5 місяців тому

      Yeah, I kinda like that it picks up stains.

    technically (sorry for being that guy) that's not painted, it's powder-coated, which offers significant benefits over something like spray paint. But it's certainly well established as a standard everywhere now, so it's nothing to write home about either.

    • @ruthfeiertag
      @ruthfeiertag 5 місяців тому

      What does “powder coated” mean? I’ve heard the phrase often enough, but never thought about what the process would be.

    • @MJFallout
      @MJFallout 5 місяців тому +1

      @@ruthfeiertag Unlike paint which has to be put on as a liquid, and which needs a solvent so as to dry into a solid, powder coating is sprayed on as a dry powder. The powder then clings to the surface because of static electricity. Once that's done, it get cured with UV light or baked, or whatever the term here is, with heat anyway
      . Powder coating usually cures to be much harder than what paint would be able to deliver.

    • @ruthfeiertag
      @ruthfeiertag 5 місяців тому

      @@MJFallout That sounds like a fairly complicated process, but one that produces mich better results. Thank you for the explanation. Is the metal charred charged somehow to create the static electricity?

    • @MJFallout
      @MJFallout 5 місяців тому +1

      The metal that you want to coat has to be connected to ground. The particles of and in the powder are positively charged via the spray gun.

      @@MJFallout I hope you don’t mind my questions. That’s a really interesting process!

    “Don’t do the thing I already did”’ sounds like something my mother would have said.
    As for what you should put in the box:
    - Large jewels. I prefer coloured gems, myself (emeralds, sapphires, rubies, opals - and now no one has an excuse not to get me a birthday present), but diamonds are less liable to get scratched.
    - Gold coins. Ideally doubloons.
    - Classified documents from major governments.
    - Evidence of the presence of aliens on Earth.
    - A list of the reasons Pluto should still be considered a planet.
    - The ashes of your enemies, burnt with the fire from that articulated dragon acquired at Crazy Alan’s (I think).
    I am always happy to support you in making important decisions, Mike.

    • @inkdependence
      @inkdependence  5 місяців тому

      Several of these are excellent ideas. I'm worried that the ashes of my enemies will sully my numerous, massive gemstones, though. Should I separate them, or am I overthinking this?

      I'm historically terrible at telling people things like "I have a store" or "There's an affiliate code you can use." I'm trying to be a little better about that since people can't go to the store page if they don't know there is one. Sorry if it was annoying.
