Honestly this is just more evidence that we need more decompression, but it hasn’t been that bad with MiG-19 players turnfighting or ripping, so due to statistics it’s probably gonna stay at 9.7 for a bit.

That’s the problem, their stats do not account for the subjective nature of over compression, at this point I would call it hyper compression.
Not bad with turn fighting. Bad with 20g and 30g missiles coming from Phantoms though. Especially since Defyns video was mainly downtiered or same br.
In the state mig19s were at 10.0 putting them at 9.7 for some time is good, tough imho they could have left the MiG19pt at 10.0 if they gave back to him the R-13m missiles (not with the performance they had in 1.87 but with the performance they have now that are on the 21bis). They could force faster enemy planes to turn so you can engage them in a quick dogfight

Regarding the R-3S missiles or w/e they are called.
The "too high load factor" is just positive Gs not negative.
I always "lead" the lock-circle infront of the enemy and pull the circle down over them so your plane is pitching down over them. So it locks while you got negative Gs going.
Always launches.
R-3S are pretty bad, which is why i prefer playing chinese variants the PL-2 missiles are beyond better haven’t had issues with load factors except when rolling they also track substantially better and are extremely hard to dodge when close

@@GewelReal i don't think they didn't buff the missiles, they just nerfed r60 reliability, thats why russian jet players get better results when using r3s as they should than when using r60s as they should.
id like to see you fly a mig 19s in a full uptier and say its the same thing. no radar/missiles is a massive disadvantage, its an unbalancable plane. it either slaps or gets slapped, no in between.

Bruh the mig19 is way too good for 9.0. Even 9.7 is too low. It should be 10.0. Mig19 is better than top tier planes performance wise it just lacks flares and missiles which puts it at a disadvantage
@@rileyxbell I think the S should be 10.0 because of its performance, but the other 19s could probably stay at 9.7 for a little bit to see how their presence affects the 9.7 br. There are aircraft that do better than it in some areas and can counter it if they play their cards right, but the same can be said for the 19. The F100D is one which doesn’t have a whole lot over the 19, but can still win a fair 1v1 and can use its better missiles to kill the 19 when boom and zooming. A7 has death missiles and guns while also having a better turn rate at most speeds even with the gun pods, the F104 has much better performance outside of turn and its got good guns too, and the Harriers and Jaguars have great guns and great missiles and the Jaguars in particular can turn with the 19PT and J6. The real problem is for the 8.7s and 9.0s that have to fight the 19, but it was the exact same for the 19 when it was 10.0 having to fight full teams of F4s because quantitative matchmaking didn’t apply in 10.0-10.7 matches if no 9.7s were present.

I got the german mig19 a few days ago and my impression of it is that, in the right situation, it's ridiculously good if you stay fast. also rates like hell at ~600, not as good as a mig21 or f5 but still pretty good against boats like the f4c

Lol i brought it back out again after the BR changes and its still difficult to fly but it feels so much better not having to deal with AIM9 Js all the time . Give it a try again !

The trick with these is not to stay on him and shoot. You want to start with lead slightly bigger than you think you need and decreas until you hit. Alternatively, stall out people and then engage
Yeah they are very confusing to use, when you shoot them they look as if they have enough velocity to pull some shots they can't pull off. You need to lead more than what you think you should
flying su7 and enjoying the hrll outta them. hit like a truck, even with stock belt. i suggest using armored targets, for some reason HE shells are RNG

@DEFYN yeah sarcastic headline but I didn't saw any fight against F-4 Phantoms. Yes it gets also full up tiers and because russia has no 10.3 atm you get one SMT or Bis. While enemy team has Draken, Mirage and 2x F-4 Phantom. I always wondered how do you control planes when you play and after I saw that you can type into chat, changing direction of flight and looking around at the same time I become even more curious. Could you consider making video about it?
That's easy. For the chat, you just put your mouse crosshair into the desired direction, then adjust the plane's roll so it only need to pull to go into that direction when opening chat. Also chat doesn't dissapear if you canceled the typing so keep that in mind.
There is one quirky thing about looking around and mouse crosshair tho. When you hold C and then do keyboard maneuvers the plane will always go back to the mouse's direction. But if you hold C, look to a direction where you can't see the mouse crosshair and then do a keyboard maneuver, the mouse crosshair now follows your plane's nose and you have full control of your plane without mouse interruption as long as you keep holding C.
That's basically what he's doing, but with faster juggling, more precision and good timing because of experience.

@@piscessoedroen ok so it was what I thought. However just by using w,a,s,d,q,e I was unable to reproduce the smooth plane guidance as with a mouse and Defyns videos it's so smooth that I would say he uses two mice, one for looking around and one for changing plane direction :-D

You mentioned that the flaps don't make the plane feel like it turns better, and I think the reason why that's the case for many jets is because the flaps are behind the centre of mass, so any lift they generate actually creates a bit of torque rotating you downwards, making it harder to pull up. They certainly increase lift and that's really useful in low speed dogfights but at high speed in jets I'll never use them, like in the swift where you can deploy them just below your wing rip speed, because they just make it harder to pull out of dives and get your guns on target.
Possibly doesn't really matter anyway as you don't want to go slow

Pure he looks like a good choice but they tend to spark because they explode on contact. Aphe looks like it'll overpen but in reality its fuse is so sensitive it will explode inside the plane.

@@matiasdelafuente3106 I did a little experimenting, and it’s actually a trade-off. HE does immediate damage so it’s good for snapping wings, but the APHE is better at almost anything else, but will give you hits if you can’t hit center mass. Default gives you the best of both-worlds.
nice video. For mig19 I found it always overroll for some reason and it seems it doesn't want to put nose down at the top of a loop ( ias400-500kph). I don't know Why. Also, i tried turn+climb to f100 and f11 a few times but i lost to them everytime...i thought it will out turn them.
Maybe it's because you are still full afterburning at the top of the loop ? Try to cut your throttle a little bit when you are at the top and that you are trying to go back down.

I feel like half the time I lose in my F-40 not necessarily because of my own gameplay... but because of American teams consisting of a bunch of people all flying their jets like ground attackers and bombers... and it’s really hampering the fighters

@@rileyxbell yup 👍 I think mig19s complimented mig21 well in battle. I’d often die to one when trying to fight a bis/smt/smt. The only reason it’s going down is because it’s hard to play (I’m shit in them) but any half decent mig pilot could compete still.

secondly 8.7s are protected by quantitative matchmaking rule which means only 3 Mig19s on the enemy team maximum (with high probability of one+ of the slots being taken by MiG21 F-13/ PFM or SU7 or Yak38 ...) that will be put up against things like A7D, F100D, Harriers etc ...
and in my opinion T-2, Jaguar A and F104s with AiM9 B/E and no Sparrows should all go down to 9.7 to round out the NATO teams ...
its happening anyway because most matches 9.7 get are currently 9.0-10.0 or 9.7 - 10.7 in about 50/50 split with ComBlock side 10.0s being filled in by German F104G

Should be 9.3. Current matchmaking has it exclusively fighting jets with countermeasures, better missiles, and higher speeds. In 100 games, I've gotten 5 matches being anything other than the bottom BR in a match.

Mig19 is too good for 9.7. It has better performance than almost every top tier plane with the exception of maybe the mig 21 bis. Why the fk is the f4c still playing top tier when this thing gets bumped down to 9.7. Gaijin just keeps managing to make the game worse with every update. Have fun fighting the mig19s in 8.7-9.7 planes. Mig19s should be 10.0 or 10.3. Along with several other planes. Then top tier needs to be increased to 11.0. Problem solved. Gaijin seems to have single digit iq when it comes to this stuff
F4C was put at 10.3 in the same patch ...
and Gaijin stated many MANY times moving BRs up is not an option as you cant simply just move planes up to 11.0 while the tanks are 10.7 max. You would have to revamp ground forces BRs completely to move the max BR up.
considering 10.7s ground is basically current era vehicles be prepared to see a LOT more downtiering in the future as the contemporaries to Leopard 2A6 for example would be Eurofighter Typhoon, FA 18E Super Hornet or SU-37...

either they need to separate battleratings for the modes (which would be frankly ideal, things like G91 with 4 NORDs should be like 9.7-10.0 in ground not 8.7 ...) which would allow to spread the BRs in air up OR totally screw up ground RB battleratings by constantly shuffling the existing tanks to higher and higher BR ceiling as we are basially at the end of whats possible to implement in ground while we do not have yet planes ingame that flew in VIETNAM ... you know like F-14 Tomcat ... that would need something like BR 15+ if implemented properly xD

the mig-19s and j-6a are the same as the mig-19pt?! um no no they arnt. The mig-19pt has alittle worst preformance than the other 2 because of that heavy radar in the nose. the s and j-6a will turn better and climb alittle better as a result
The J6 and the PT are the same, they both have the RP5 radar as well.
the S is lighter by about 7% and will perform better which I also stated.

@@benfennell6842 no, the mig19 is just not enough maneuverable. Now that there's stuff like the f8u and the j35A looping over and over doesn't solve anything because these have roughly the same thrust weight ratio than you and turn a lot better.
@@kingghidorah8106 lmao you dont see the obvious mistake in your logic. i can drain a j35 of its energy any day every day. same with any other plane thats not a fucking mig 19 or a viggen. how ? make them turn after you then start looping horizontally until the j35 falls back then cut into your own loop to let him catch to keep the illusion hes got your 6. go round once maybe twice hes done. you still have 1000kmh to work with. you can do it with any plane you fight maybe not with a f8e. to deal with that include vertical axis if necessary and youre done with him as well. seems like your inability to fly the plane is more of a issue here ^^
what you were talking about is their ability to sustain huge aoa to give you the illusion youre turning fast when in reality youre using your speed to turn and are basically drifting through the air. the mig just doesnt do that thats why it wins ANY dogfight aggainst planes that arent called j37.....

Im taking a time out of war thunder since the end of the event, but i came back last week to try de Mig19 at 9.7, i get a match where we got a F104 as our 10+ and the enemy team was (im not joking) 90% F4E/C etc... we all die, well fine. So today i try again after watching this video, and again, a F4E kills me, my plane is still stock, and i cant find a reason to try learn this plane. Witch makes me sad since it is a beatiful plane.

@@g1v3n41 its mostly not about dodging missiles but beeing in a position to do so. if youre rushing in like hes most likely doing you wont be having a great time as i only takes one person a km or less behond you to send you to the hangar. you need to be careful at the start of thw game those airspawn mofos rain hell on you if you dont especially in a plane that has no cm. yes you can dodge most missiles if youre in the right position but if a missile is shot at you from close range wich means less than 2km and it tracks and isnt one of the lowtier ones you die simple as that. you wont be outpulling the missile and it wont burn out before it hits you. if youre side aspect its really fucking simple but those harriers slotting on your 6 from above can kill you easily if youre not aware so i would say no its not him beeing to stupid to dodge but rather him having no awareness

I wish this video was of the Mig-19s with no missiles, and vs F4-E's like every match seems to be for me lately. That would be much more useful really. Still great to watch though.

I can’t say I’ve ever really had a bad time with the MiG-19S, but there’s been no shortage of times when I can’t kill multiple enemies because they severely out-run/out energy me. There’s also the issue with the roll rate at high speeds compared to NATO aircraft. You really feel the lack of missiles in an uptier, but it has its moments since the guns are so good.
Gaijin logic: Plane with no AAMs, and no avionics: 10.0
Advantage? 5% less weight, one more cannon
The same plane with AAMs and avionics, one less gun, 5% more weight: 9.7

A Mig 19 is potent enough to take on a Tomcat toe to toe in a guns fight for a very short period of time and win due to fuel load. The moment you introduce missiles The Mig 19 Has a hard time getting close enough to fire it's heaters as log as it can sneak up out of the Tomcats Radar Cone. I bring this up because the Mig 19 sits in such a weird performance category. Its turn rate and climb and acceleration power make it an POWER HOUSE in it's generation even a little above the moment long range FOX1, or FOX 3 missiles show its not that great.

Beautiful flying. Excellent presentation. I personally love using the Mig-19 in low to mid energy engagements. It’s high thrust to weight ratio combined with clever rudder and aileron inputs can produce excellent results. Glad I stumbled onto your work. Top notch!
This is one of the few Soviet high tier jets I really enjoy flying. I don’t enjoy the MiG-15/17 much because of the incredibly awkward and often unreliable guns (so many sparks for me). MiG-19 though is just absolute hilarity. It goes zooms for days and is agile enough to make it easy getting those guns on target. The same can’t be said for the Su-7, despite the same armament it’s just a bus and playing it stock is utter cancer. Can’t even do S-24 memes :(.
How often does it get uptier vs same tier. I tried 2 matches in it yesterday and both against F-4Es :(

Its never same tier. It's either up or down and you end up getting more downtiers the more you play it.
I sit here in amazement at how you handle multiple opponents. When I face off 1 vs many I am like oh ****, but you take it like a walk in the park. You seem to have detailed knowledge of all your opponents capabilities, is this just through many hours of gameplay experience?

Idk what it is, I can’t play top tier, the jets are too fast, plus dogfighting is just missles, which I get, but 8.7 and under is probably the best imo.

That dogfight from 6:11 to 7:20 was nice. It was all over when you picked up altitude and he was not paying attention to the aggressive energy grabs you were doing. An ace would’ve cut your loop
i spaded the MiG19S two days ago and the whole grind has been a blast, really quick and full of dopamine. Then I went back to MiG19PT and I felt like an absolute burden, missed most of my shots and died. The MiG19S is noticeably better than the PT and J6A, even on duels it will juggle with the F-16 above 700kmh as long as it keeps the one circle. The PT on the other hand struggles with the F8E and F5E unless it goes up and plays passively.
Always learning something new watch your vids. At just a few hours on the game then that's probably a given. lol

MiG-19s will beat most opponents as long as they can land one or two shots, armament aside, they're just the best planes in they're BR range.
