- Even though our memories are not dependable, the remembrance of hurts can be vivid to the point of feeding a root of bitterness throughout our life if we allow it. We can choose to forgive and come to love our worst enemies.
This was such a blessing. I cried and I felt like God was doing a mighty work in me as I listened. I been listening to stuff about bitterness and nothing pierced my heart like this. Thank you so much for giving a loving and Jesus filled point of view about having to let this go. We have to love others. I have been through a lot but I know that it doesn’t matter Bc God can heal everything. Now I have to release it too. I felt like as you talked I realized that I didn’t want to let it go Bc I felt like the person didn’t deserve it but then the Lord showed me that’s retaliation and then I was asking God why am I like this and the Lord showed me it’s Bc I don’t trust God to take care of it for me so I repented. This just helped me so much and I declare my freedom is here in Jesus. I’m 37 but I know Jesus is now truly showing me who he created me to be.
Yes, been working on forgiving everyone in the last two years. I forgive everytime a new memory enters. Works in layers. When negative thoughts come it's an opportunity to forgive. When new people come and do wrong it's still a struggle to go immediately to forgiveness.
