Very few evangelists have a unique way of sharing the gospel. Ray is one of those people. For those suffering with panic attacks actually hyperventilation and a surge of adrenaline and cortisol enter the bloodstream to prepare the body for danger (fight or flight response). A small organ deep within the limbic system called the amygdala is responsible for activating the fear response. The activation can turn on as fast as turning on a light switch. Unfortunately, the brain cannot perceive the difference between a real threat from a perceived threat. With the help of CBT and or exposure therapy eventually the brain can be retrained to know the difference between real danger and perceived danger.

We don't love God when we fear Him. "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' We leave no room for love in the fear. I'm not surprised that Ray lives in fear as he said. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. "

@@krystal6612 When I fear, I know I'm not thinking clearly. I ask God what it true and He gives me what I need to know at that time. He's omniscient, I am not. So I trust Him and I get just what I need to know at the time. I don't guide people into fear of God as Ray does to try to get them to believe. I affirm they are created in the likeness of God so they can trust Him.

Losing faith is a great way of conquering various fears. Once any of the various Christian theologies no longer make sense, then associated fears go away. I don't think many Christians give enough thought to that.

That might be how you feel about it. However, if you listen to the voices of many other people you will find that they feel and think differently:-
      a. Some once thought the way you did for various reasons, and for various other reasons concluded that their thinking (and yours) was wrong.
      b. Some thought that God existed but found, thanks to upbringing and/or how they understood the bible, that God was not necessarily the way you believe.
      c. Other possibilities?
So in the context of points a and b, at least, losing faith often conquers fears.

Ray has convinced himself that he has an invisible friend he calls "the Lord" who tells him to judge people and convert them to his way of thinking or face eternal damnation.

@@eddiemoore579 No Jesus did not say we shouldn't judge. The passage centered around Judging is found in (Matthew 7:1-5). Jesus was attacking the Pharisees for being self-righteous hypocrites. He said," Why do you see the speck that is in your bothers eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye". In other words, if you have the same sin in your life get rid of it so that you may be able to help your brother with his sin. This is the way Christians are to judge others. Jesus called it a righteous judgement. God bless!

I have found that judging other people is very self-defeating. Speaking truth in love is what is required. Jesus could judge others because He is the Judge!
