at this time east and central shared a field. central being the home team wearing blue.... brings back some great memories growing up... graduated in 94' from east and lost in shootout to homestead... so glad the boys returned to the finals and handled biz.....
The Play doesn't Look as Crisp and organized as it does nowadays, even by high school soccer standards. Lots of rushed through balls. Either way you could tell it was a close game with a lot of heat and emotion stemming from both sides! Cool video to watch.
my friend told me about this game. east had a couple foreign exchange students that were unreal. I went to Kettle Moraine a few years later than this but heard this was huge no doubt. Milwaukee metro and Lake Country truly are small gem areas for soccer in the Midwest and country
@rvgmuhs07 Yeah, totally subjective. It was a USA Today ranking or whatever. I think they were 20-0-0 and had the best record of any state champs. They were very good and the MVP from the 2000 NCAA tournament was on that team. We did have a very strong senior class in general in Wisconsin in 1996. Lots of guys were being recruited by big schools, so there was credibility. Plus Wisconsin won the NCAA's that year and UWM was very good too.

@rvgmuhs07 I am not surprised they are still talking about it constantly lol. It WAS pretty cool. I was jealous for sure...
@rvgmuhs07 They might have played a few teams from Illinois but the rest were against Wisco teams... Maybe one or two from Minnesota but I doubt it.
Was this game held at Brookfield Central or East?
East.
