Nicky is fishing Aucklands wild west coast with local fisherman Nick Hekkens. The duo negotiate the confused water of the Kaipara Harbor in an attempt to fill the chilli bin with snapper for Christmas.

It's such a brutal world we live in .....to watch a pretty girl stab a fish through the head, with her knife makes me think, in the next life ....I want to be a fish that is caught by a pretty girl !

I think ikkiing is cruel. The way their fins stand up in shock is horrible. Just put them on ice and let them quietly expire. Being cold blooded animals I don’t think they suffer as they chill down.
