  • Back in 2006, bats across the Northeast started dying by the millions. The culprit? A mysterious disease called white-nose syndrome that for years, stayed largely confined to the eastern U.S. But in 2016, white-nose suddenly and mysteriously appeared in the Northwest. And now researchers are racing to learn what bats here are in for.

I saw a baby of these bats sleeping on my front door lol. I didn’t know bats lived in my area. I left a banana out for it. (it didn’t eat it)

I am fortunate to have Silver Haired bats living in my area. Before I changed the roofing on my home (a form of corrugated metal) I had 50-100 bats living in the humps of the roof. How they handled the heat on a hot summer day is beyond me. My question is do you know how to attract more bats and even build something they could roost in during the day as they did in my old roof. When I have enough bats in the area I don't need to worry about nasties like mosquitoes, besides, some of us know just how cool bats are!
