Sometimes it’s about doing it off the strength. Imagine if Drake declined working with artists that were coming up just because they weren’t big enough. It’s a selfish mentality to have. You don’t gotta do it for everyone but reach back and help some even if they aren’t big enough yet.
That Drake comparison is not valid because even though Drake does collabs with smaller artist it's strategic because one...the artist are usually ten years younger and are tapped in with the younger crowd and a newer sound which allows him to borrow the sound for himself and fact two...they are usually street orientated artist which keeps him cemented in the hood even though he is not a hood artist

As a musician I've seen a lot of Vlads.
