- The Princess Royal left midwives and the Duchess of Cambridge in stitches when she recalled fearing one of her babies had become "wedged" when she tripped over in a horse lorry while heavily pregnant. The Queen's daughter was chatting to maternity experts during a visit to the new headquarters of her patronage, the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), which is also home to the Royal College for Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RCOG) - and which Kate supports as patron. Report by Laurence Brooks.

No, they aren't a credit to the UK. What do they do? The midwives in this video ARE a credit to the UK, delivering babies, WORKING hard and keeping babies and mums as safe as can be. These 2 swan about on "engagements" dressed in pricey clothes, go back to houses full of expensive items they never paid for and have staff. Stop simpering, open your eyes to the absurdity of praising these people who are not special or better than us and see how people like the hard working midwives are a credit. If I had a daughter then I'd want her to look up to the midwives who work hard and care for others. Not a pair of women who will never work 1/10th as hard as these medical people do. Facts!

When my husband was in the Army, Princess Anne visited our regiment several times over his 22 years service. She is warm, well informed, witty and very interested in the people she spoke with. What a pity she could never have been Queen. She would've made a superb Monarch.

I love Princess Anne's complete lack of ostentation or self-consciousness. I especially loved when the royal eyebrow went up at a comment, followed by a smile. Duchess Catherine is always so beautiful and gracious! It's impressive how these women draw attention to others and not to themselves. They observed protocol in a way that didn't make others nervous or uncomfortable. They created lifetime memories for those fortunate to meet them.

It may be precedence but there was a lot of respect between both women. Either woman could have done that engagement alone, that is one power message to have both. Perhaps it is an indication that William and Catherine will be stepping up even more as senior Royals and Anne will take over the Queen's role of offering advice to Catherine. They are a great combination.

This is amazing. I was wondering when this channel would come out with a video. I was surprised to learn that this was HRH Princess Anne's and Princess Catherine's first joint event together. They make a fabulous pair. These issues are so important. I am really happy the UK has them to champion these causes. I wish I could participate. We so desperately need something like this here in the US. This is such a severe problem here in the US. This is one of the benefits to having a monarchy- provided your monarchs are actually for the people. God bless HM, HRH Princess Anne and Princess Catherine. I so love them all for all they do for the people.

This was lovely to watch…The Princess Royal & The Duchess of Cambridge looked great together…l hope we see them out & about more in the future..it’s also nice to read everyone’s comments & they’re all complementary.
Fantastic double act, I hope to see more of them together in the future. I think this slimmed down working royal family are doing a good job and I hope this reassures the Queen her dynasty will be left in good hands 🤝

Once again, Kate shows her respect for royal protocol in waiting for The Princess Royal to go first. One could never imagine her doing a Markle and elbowing her way to the front.
There was a moment when it was obvious that Catherine wanted to say something, but the other person was still speaking so she did not interrupt, but waited for other person to finish. Respectful, courteous and excellent manners, unlike the one who should not be mentioned.

I have always liked HRH the Princess Royal. Especially in her "eventing" days if photographers spooked her mounts. "NAFF OFF" was one of her favourite sayings, along with fist shaking. Catherine's been part of the royal family 11 years, she doesn't need to be shown the ropes, this engagement is because Anne is patron of the Royal College of Midwives and Catheine is patron of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and they both now share the same building

As a retired Midwife, I'm delighted to see the visit getting some much needed publicity for The Royal College of Midwives. The building in Central London has a very photogenic doorway, shame we didn't see that here as it looks a bit bland/generic inside.

I really like Princess Ann and l've noticed of late that she's allowing the gray in her hair to remain. Katherine is just simply just Katherine. Both women are just being themselves and there is nothing naught about neither.

Duchess Catherine stood behind Princess Anne, thus respecting her higher rank - and probably her age too - and she was careful not to look to glamourous - sober hair do - in order not to steal her thunder. She is perfect, her hubby must have metaphorically broken both his legs when he met her :D !
