- Originally synced to Paul Brady's version, this film of "Arthur McBride" has now been synced to the Planxty version of the song, which is my favorite version. No, this is not my video footage, but this song is traditional.
UP the IRISH!
My own great great great grandfather's were experiencing much the same and gave the english a good hiding when they could ,bless em,God bless old Ireland 🇮🇪
Big up! to your great, great grandfather
I love this song, I have a ticket to see andy soon, can't wait 😀
that's brilliant - that's exactly how the story plays out in my head whenever I listen to this song! As far as Paul Brady v Planxty , love both versions!
Absolutely love this, another wonderful traditional tune from Planxty 💚
love that you put this to the planxty version! Awesome job.
Brilliant! Well done match up lad! Loved both versions, but I first heard Planxty's and imported their records to the U.S. starting in 1973.
I love that wink at the end.
God save old ireland, 🙏 her old characters, heroes will never die bless.
No need to worry, God was telling me that Ireland is one of his most favorite places to visit and the Irish are his most loved people, they both are very special to him and each year God takes his only son Jesus for a 2 week holiday, they visit the best pubs both big and small, where every great music is been played, you know that God also loves Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy music also
@@jamesbradshaw3389 Jesus said to God why are you giving the Irish so many blessings it hardly seems fair. God replied Aye but wait till you see the neighbours I`m giving them.
My Irish came to Australia during the Great Famine and were part of the Eureka Stockade. After the gold rush they became farmers, hoteliers and business men. The Irish were the first Australian patriots. Australia for them was a country, and not just part of Britain. St Patrick, Ora Pro Nobis
I've been familiar with this great anti-war song for a long time but I've never seen a film version and a good one of a Traditional song. Very impressed!
Its jot so much anti-war as it is against falling for the lies of enlisters. Regaurdless of whats going on, enlisters almost never tell recruits the truth, even in times of peace.
Don't know what trip you're on, man. This is the most anti-war song I've ever heard
@@jacobhargiss3839 A truly bonkers take on this song. Its clearly anti-war and anti-soldiering
I do enjoy Paul Brady's version, but Planxty has always been my favourite. This was perfectly synced! Great job, this was just perfect and brought such a smile to my face to watch.
I do prefer Paul Brady’s version, but this is imho a far better sync up between song and film, and the Planxty version is still excellent, so in short, well done!
There's more of the rebel spirit in the Planxty version
Pure magic
Leave it to the songwriters/musicians... Slainté
Haha, very smart work man. Left a like 👍🏻
A lovely lyrical storytelling song. Thanks to mo chara who introduced me to Planxty 💚🎶
Up! Love it man.
My favourite Planxty Song.
Good on ya lad
Wonderful
Nice.
Irish stick fighting is a brutal method of self defence..... It works, well against imperialist stooges and cucks 🇨🇮✊🏴❤️
Erin Go Bragh!
Pardon. I meant Charles Trois le roi actuel d'Angleterre!
This a better version than Brady's
Damn right it is
I thought from the song they killed the soldiers?
Its keft ambiguous, but I interpretted "paid them right smart" to mean that they made them feel pain. There's nothing in the lyrics that makes it clear the soldiers died.
They just kicked their fekkin' arses
I thought they killed the soldiers too.
@@nbenefiel In the Paul Brady version they "left them for dead in the morning"
Is that maybe where you got the idea that they killed them?
Vive Charles This!
Brutalising a child... throwing his drum into the sea and laughing about it!
I see absolutely nothing to be pleased about in this song!
If you listen to the words carefully, they took pity on the lad. " We bargained he was for turning" Remember it was the Brits who introduced this child to war....
Ha ha, brutalising? Not really. Pushed over in some soft sand.
Joyless amadán. Nice to see your lobotomy was a complete success bubba.
But that’s my favorite part :(
They should have put his head in the drumskin
Andy irvine is a brilliant singer and musican
Grande popolo gli Irlandesi 👍
Wonderful
