I just setup year 2 in my new dynasty. Conference realignment. I set the pac 12 to the new up coming year. I allowed FSU and Clemson to leave to the Big Ten like they're trying to But to combat it to the ACC I moved Notre Dame, WVU, UConn, Memphis, and UNLV because the mountain west kind of imploded. A realistic move to make it the strongest basketball conference. Kind of mixes the old big east with acc. I moved USF to the big 12. I already follow the recruiting to the t that you use.
In NCAA 07(?) I took Air Force and to make it interesting I would only entertain those with the highest discipline and I want to say academics but can’t remember if that was a thing. Pickings were slim and I’d have to move player positions all the time. After a few years it was so worth getting random 4 star nerds. Wouldn’t get many but it was like winning a scratch off ticket if I found one.
I’m doing a dynasty with a small conference school with the house rules: - No recruiting more than one star up (ie, only two stars until I’m a two star program, then I can go for three stars) - Only allowed to recruit guys who either have me in their top ten or are in a pipeline - If any power conference school offers a guy I have to immediately drop my schollie and let the power conference have them. No - Not allowed to sort by number of offers, only allowed to review who is in my pipeline or has interest in me Still probably too easy but at least a lot more interesting and slower. It would probably be harder if I took zero recruiting perks too.
This is great, the exact kind of video I have been looking for. I like the idea of scouting before offering scholarships, but maybe it could be good to scout just below fully so you don’t find out if they’re gems, and there is still ambiguity in their ratings. I’d love to see someone with time develop a procedure for manually rolling dice or something similar to decide on possible self-imposed injuries or suspensions that you have to put on players, since the injury system is so broken in Dynasty. As in once a week you need to roll to see if a player gets injured for the season, and can’t control who it is. This would really impose some luck and need for good depth on the dynasty.
One reasonable SIM rule is only go after archetypes that fit your scheme, which for navy is the triple option. It's so easy to get a 4 star field general and then suddenly swap to pro style. I find house rules to be more rewarding when you have success given the amount of cheese you can do when recruiting, like the other day when I spammed 75 hrs on 4, 5 stars for 5 weeks until they committed. I didn't even schedule a visit. Pure brute force with hours lol
Great content as always been loving this game !! You in PA? Only ask cause you always have Pitt teams in about 45 mins away from Pitt so that’s my teams
My house rules: can recruit any players that are the same stars as your program or one star above if they are in state. If you have a half star, you can recruit players one star above your program if they are in your pipeline.
Ultimate House Rule: Auto Recruit ON This will keep you at the level your school is historically at. Building your dynasty will 100% come down to coaching staff/abilities - which honestly doesn't sound half bad. I tried recommended tab only - too easy I tried Gems only from recommended tab - harder but ridiculously tedious lol
@@JacobReid Its super difficult but I'm enjoying the challenge 😂 I am just a DC though. I focused on maxing out my defense abilities and this is working for me. Slowly getting better and should leap forward now that we fired our head coach after 4 losing seasons 😂
@@fraseroliver17 I've tried passive runs as a HC, DC, and OC. Even up to 10 years. I've never seen an OVR higher than 85 because they don't get aggressive with the top guys and they stick to the recommended board. But the main issue is if you max out your recruiter, you'll have a class of 35 and have to cut better players to make room for their 1⭐ players 🙄 Honestly, I kinda want to go back to gems only. This felt the most rewarding and since I redshirt EVERY freshman, I can only bring in 17 quality recruits anyway
I love the scout rule. You could go in opposite direction and say you can only 10% scout as well…. What about coach abilities? I like to say no recruiting tree from user coach. Or only the scouting ones if you are going the scouting method.
I started at Boise after 2-3 season got offered Notre Dame I scheduled every top 25 school tried to do mostly top 15 but I tried to make it as hard as possible
My house rule is in only able to recruit guys that have me in their top 10. I think it helps keep it realistic even when your team gets to a higher prestige as not every 5 star is going to be interested in your school, no matter how good you are
If you want a challenge with one of the military academies, don’t recruit above 3 star ever and even then 3 might be too much. In real life those teams would almost never land a big recruit do to them having to serve military time.
@@MARS92683 I believe they get to go there for the education and get to opt out after 4 years. That might just be the local military colleges near me though
@@JacobReid even so, no 4 or 5 star recruit is taking the long way to the NFL. There’s also strict size and weight restrictions but abiding by those would never work in the game. Trying to find an OL would be impossible if you need to stay under 231lb if a player is 6’6”.
