The guy at the end in the suit is Sam Kekovich. He is a legendary VFL/AFL footballer and played for North Melbourne (Kangaroos) back in the 1970's and is the lamb ambassador.
And when he retired, he moved to Sydney and captain coached the now extinct Newtown "Bloodied" Angels based at Erskineville Oval. I was playing u16s when he was there.
Congratulations Kaitlyn, you are now more Aussie than Septic Tank. You called it a Whipper Snipper, rather than Weed Wacker. So proud of your progress. Say howdy to Mark the Tunneller. Cheers.
I remember a Dr Who episode in the 1960's where they travel into the future, where they come across a room full of computer screens and young people sitting in front of screen, eyes transfixed. Then every now and then one would be pulled into the screen and disappear, only to replaced by another young person. Was this a prediction of the future? If not, it is realy close to reality of how the majority of people are staring at their smart phones as if that is the centre of their universe and nothing else matters.
My mother bred black sheep for their wool, on our farm in NE Victoria. There was always lamb to eat. Grilling (charcoaling) a few chops over a fire was a treat. Finding a place to replicate those memories is difficult now, too many restrictions. But it's a pleasant memory.
From South Australia & just discovered your channel. I find you so interesting and well balanced. (You had me at g'day!) Years ago, I worked with many USA Air Force personal in Woomera - Wonderful, interesting, generous people! PS: I don't like lamb - Too much fat and bone and little meat. 🙁
I'm in a generation of my own. I was an IT geek in the 80's but got overtaken. Yes I have an iPhone. Use it all the time with phone calls & messages. I've deleted most apps for security though keep getting messages about undelivered parcels as they can't find my Sydney address. I live in country QLD but my VPN is set to Sydney.
This once a year event is a chance for the advertising people to get creative. It is worth watching the various ads over the years. Most are very good.
Gen Xer here. My comments haven’t appeared and I’m grumpy. Going off to read a book, book a karaoke night for next weekend and comment on any UA-cam video talking about how new music is trash.
I know the feels about not quite getting Gen Z - I am late Gen X (end of the 70s birth, mid-40s age), and I do consider myself an Internet Citizen, but just slightly out of touch.
Hi Kaitlyn, I have 2 suggestions for you that given your reaction to "And the band played Waltzing Matlida", I think you will appreciate. They are both by Sabaton - 1st is their cover of "1916" & the 2nd is "Christmas Truce". These are the respective links for you - ua-cam.com/video/HgGhhnQB1gw/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/HPdHkHslFIU/v-deo.html
Haven't done Rock Climbing in 20 years, that was a blast. The suited gentleman is Sam Kekovich, can't remember the year but worked security in South Australia and got to meet him once. So wanted to ask for an autograph, but that would have been so unprofessional, so I didn't
As a grumpy old 62-year-old boomer, if you think an older person is useless because they can't use an iPhone or pad etc think again. Perhaps the useless ones are those who can't stop using it..! Also concerning "participation awards," When my sons were at school they called these certificates, "Thanks a lot for trying but you still suck!" awards. I'm very proud to say I instilled a healthy dose of boomer cynicism into them at an early age.

When you can say Zed instead of Zee without thinking about it, you know you have fully transitioned!

"It's okay to spend 368 billion on submarines" 😅 For some reason that line just cracks me up.
It was an impulse buy 😂
That was such a burrrrrrn!!! 😂😂😂
As a Gen Xer in her 50s, I love the way you inadvertently insulted my age 😛 and the lamb ad deliberately cut off my contemporaries ... twice 😂

Thanks for that Katlin the first time seeing the whole Ad

Naomi turned down a dinner date with Tom for lamb roast 🍻
HHHHAAAA not john Howard , ITS Sam Kekovich
and I think because Sam is a tall guy the line might have been referencing the actor John Howard (in case people are thinking of the prime minister)

To the person who criticized us for being in our 30's... Good luck affording to buy yourself a house 😏
Hey Gen X got 5 seconds!! Nice 😂😂😂😂
Who cares? We don't. Well most of us Gen X are used to being overlooked and happy to just get on with life.

The lamb ads are always good though this isn’t the best one. Glad to see they are still wheeling Sam out once a year.

The ad was nice
Regardless of when you do it, it’s still relevant. Good ad, if you can say ads are ever good??? We’ll just say good reaction, okay?
Be careful the spirit whale's will get you.
Vince Villa looks good 😜
We have had better ones...This was ok

No mention of why his appearance in this might be relevant? Tsk Tsk. He made lamb ads for Australia Day from 2005 to 2014. Really popular ones.
John Howard was outdated even when he was PM.
These lamb ads just get worse every year.
Zed … wtf is zee?
Yanks.
The worst ever of all the Lamb adds so WOKE and awful the best ones are the old ones
I actually hate this add so pathetic
Please just stop talking and just go home….
