I tend to think that Chad had to convince her they were dark entities, and she instead of saying how can you say that, just went along with it. I think it was his idea. Don’t let his mild mannered droning monotone voice fool you. He’s evil and wanted his wife and anyone in the way gone. He wanted what he thought was “her” money. He said to many people she was loaded. When Charles the golden goose was killed he then probably through well she gets 4000 grand a month is benefits so let’s get rid of them and tell everyone we don’t want to say where they are.

Because her two attorneys have sounded winded, tired, and just half hearted the whole trial.

As much as I am convinced that Lori Daybell was complicit in the murders if not the driving force behind them, there are arguments that he can make which he should have made by now. I have no doubt that she is going to be convicted (quite rightfully) but at this late stage, her lawyer is literally serving her with an appeal based on incompetent legal representation. It's so frustrating!!

I rarely comment about lawyers since, yes, everyone has the right to a fair trial and to a lawyer, and public denfender are crucial for this. But when the lawyer makes it more about himself than the victims of his client, that's bad defense. So he did it either to open up that chance for appeal or because he's unqualified.

I disagree with the majority. I think Lori's lawyer did a phenomenal job. He took the position of her critic, appealing to the jury's likely feelings of disgust with her. He's essentially arguing for an insanity plea despite that option not being on the table and shifting all of the blame to Chad. If her lawyer had tried to paint her as virtuous, he would have been met with immediate resistance from jurors. With this unsympathetic approach, he may have given Lori her best chance at a hung jury.

It does feel that way. It’s hard to imagine defending someone who’s done such horrible things. But someone has to do it. We all have a right to an attorney, guilty or innocent. I always find myself wondering how anyone could defend someone like this, or like any of the other awful people in the world. But at the end of the day, someone needs to do it. The defense is just doing their job. Anger needs to be directed solely at the person(s) who committed the crime, anyone who helped them, or anyone who failed to help prevent the crime. I believe both of the defense lawyers are public defenders, so the case was assigned to them. I personally couldn’t ever be a defense attorney, but our justice system needs them in order to function. It’s hard to find a good balance because there are also those defense attorneys who really don’t care, as long as they get a win. But I’d like to think there are defense attorneys who have solid morals. If someone is charged with a crime and they are in fact innocent, having a defense attorney is such a blessing, but it’s hard when someone is so clearly guilty.

You get what you pay for. The fact she did not report her children missing is her biggest problem. She would need to take the stand and tell the jury she loved, believed and obeyed Chad when he told her he was taking the kids off somewhere to protect them from the impending doomsday event. Lori refused to turn on Chad. However, Chad will turn on Lori in his trial. Chad will say Alex and Lori killed his wife and the children without his knowledge. The fact Chad said the children were missing but safe is his problem. Truth is Chad only told Lori what she wanted to hear. Chad lusted after her and wanted to please her. Lori was so impatient for her husband to die, Chad's wife to die and The children were in the way. So she could be with Chad.

Let her live a nice long life without her freedom, and eventually come to the realization that she allowed herself to become brainwashed and helped to orchestrate the killing of her beautiful children, husband, Tammy and probably her brother (in my opinion) over a man. ONE MAN with a God complex. She ruined her family for a man she'll never be with or ever see again. And she'll realize it just wasn't worth it and have to die of old age in jail with that fact.

34:30 The reason she didn't get life insurance policies on Tylee and JJ was because she planned for no one to ever discover their deaths.
Money was not the reason she was attracted to Chad. She bought into all his BS and they both, were having mid-life regrets. Money was why they each just didn't get divorced. Their spouses were worth more to them dead than separated.
I suspected from the beginning that the reason Lori enrolled JJ in school and got a babysitter was because she wanted to create an alibi, the semblance that she intended for JJ to live in Idaho, but transitioned out-of-state. She thought she could convince the Woodcocks that JJ was living in AZ while convincing Melanie G. JJ was living in LA.
Mr. Archibald, What about JJ's service dog that Lori returned BEFORE JJ died? Sounds like planning, to me.
43:40 But did Tammy's kids actually get the $430,000 before Chad was arrested? The assumption was the life insurance payout was what Chad was living on in HI.

I see so many comments regarding Lori and Archibald planning this bad closing purposely so as to appeal for bad representation. That is not a thing, especially with the presiding attorney in on it. Lol.
Criminal Appeal solicitors are frequently contacted by clients who want to appeal because they feel that they were badly represented.
The Court of Appeals have made it clear that only in extreme circumstances will they allow an appeal as a result of bad legal representation.
You will need to show that not only were the legal team incompetent but this incompetence led to identifiable issues in the trial which in turn made your conviction illegal.
Which, this has not happened here. It's not Archibalds fault she is indefendable!
