Tip for the future and another trips to any country: don't visit those "candy stores" if you want to try good sweets or candy. These stores have nothing in common with local things and are overpriced, overrated and the sweets are old. This is international chain of tourist's trap.

1:56 35 PLN for a pistachio croissant?! i think i would cry, what a scam
in Krakow we have these bakeries called Lajkonik and you can get these for 1/4th of that price, they also have various filled croissant rolls for 20PLN (10PLN if you come an hour before closing!)

I know artisan bakeries in Cracow that sell those for way less than 35. But is it even a tourist experience if you don't overpay on a trip for at least one thing? 😆

A plausible reason for the street lights being dim is simply the fact that if they were bright, the people that live near would be interrupted by the lights. Especially bad if they wanted to sleep.
There is no reason why the nighttime street lights would need to be super bright. They're there only so that you can move from point A to point B without tripping over everything (and to make you more visible when crossing the street), and for that, a dim light is more than enough.

    my tips for tourists:
-be kind to others, as they will be kind to you. You are welcome here as long as you respect our beliefs and culture (youre the guest afterall).
-avoid chain restaurants, 99% of them are 10 times worse than any local, family owned restaurant.
-everything that is flashy and clearly appeals to tourists is quite risky in terms of spending your money correctly. most of the time these are tourist traps (like the candy shop).

2:00: The milk bars are budget diners - back in the Communist era they were state-subsidized, and some still are. As a rule of thumb they're serving inexpensive but filling meals. No faffing about with "better" ingredients, just no-nonsense food in bulk.
3:07: I didn't know about Halloumi, but after looking it up I can see some similarities - Oscypek is made from sheep and cow milk, then brined and smoked.

I just watched a video of a guy talking about unsmiling Poles while at the same time describing things that brought him 9/10 10/10 enjoyment with the most bored voice I’ve heard in months. :)
I won't explain the origins of the so-called "Polish smile"-someone has probably done it already or will do so soon
Anyway that bored voice combined with narrative cuts that stripped the video of all punctuation created a mixture that reminded me of old British humor which by the way I absolutely love

@Jams.life_ I always hated stupid Grafitti made by some random brainrots. Legal graffiti made with a plan by an artist is ok 👌 especially on old communist buildings. But in the old towns... Complete devastation. The most of graffiti popped up since 2022... Like mushrooms after the rain. Maybe it's a new trend

@@Jams.life_ i have a theory of why graffiti exploded after 2022...the timing is too "convenient" for it not to be connected to the conflict somehow.
part 1 - huge influx of ukr youth with too much free time, increasing the likelihood of doing hooligan things like graffiti
part 2 - direct Z influence (paying hooligans/bad actors to graffitti polish cities. in the start of the war, Z was even exposed for paying people to write "fake" graffiti with controversial messages)

@@Jams.life_ So we cordially invite you! There are many interesting tourist regions in Poland and each one is different. In Silesia - Wrocław (Polish Venice) and the Sudety Mountains and the Karkonosze Mountains (forests, rivers, caves, medieval castles on high mountain peaks, 18th century fortresses and Nazi bunkers from WWII). Greater Poland is a land of lakes and palaces from the 17th-19th centuries, there is the city of Gniezno (the first capital of Poland in the 10th-11th centuries) and beautiful monuments in Poznań. Pomerania lies along the Baltic Sea - 400 km of beautiful sandy beaches and the historic city of Gdańsk, where Heweliusz and Gabriel Fahrenheit lived, and nearby is Malbork - the city where the world's largest brick castle stands. Masuria - a land of lakes, there are over 3,000 of them, connected by canals and rivers, creating a many-mile system of water routes and a real paradise for sailors. It is also worth seeing Zamość - a beautiful Renaissance 16th century fortress city, medieval Toruń - the city of Nicolaus Copernicus and of course the capital Warsaw. And remember - these are just a small part of the attractions you can see in Poland! 🤓So, you must definitely come to Poland again! 🤔

Greater Poland is a land of lakes and palaces from the 17th-19th centuries, there is the city of Gniezno (the first capital of Poland in the 10th-11th centuries) and the beautiful old town in Poznań, including the famous Renaissance town hall on the tower of which moving figures of goats appear, which hit each other with their heads.

@@Jams.life_ Pomerania lies along the Baltic Sea - 250 miles of beautiful sandy beaches and the historic city of Gdańsk, where Heweliusz and Gabriel Fahrenheit lived, and nearby is Malbork - the city where the world's largest brick castle stands.

Napiszę po polsku. Bo jestem Polakiem. Jestem polakiem, mieszkam w Polsce i znam ceny. Nie oszukuj ludzi. Pozdrawiam z Warszawy.

"I thought Poland would put us off, be boring, very cold, not much to see." 🥲 Oof. I know it's not your fault, but seeing statements like this feels so weird every time. It's like,- "Is that really what they think about us in the world?" type of thought. It's almost like we're living in an alternative reality.

Noooo it's not that, most Brits love sunny/warm holidays so it is unusual to some people to pick somewhere cold to go on a 'holiday'... Apologies, did not mean to offend in anyway!
