Pt. III - Pursuance，由 Tenor Saxophone 演奏家 John Coltrane 於 1965年於 Impulse 廠牌發行的 A Love Supreme 專輯
1955 成為小號巨人Miles Davis 的 First Great Quintet 成員錄製了傳奇的 「Cookin'、 Relaxin'、 Workin’、Steamin'」
1957 年與 Monk 留下了著名的 「At Carnegie Hall」
1958 與 Miles 在 Columbia 留下 「Milestones 」跟 「Kind of Blue」在 Blue Note 留下 「Blue Train」
1959 在 Atlantic 留下「Giant Steps、Coltrane Jazz、My Favorite Things、Olé 」四張革命性的專輯
加入 Impulse 前 Coltrane 都是非常遵循「爵士音樂該有的樣貌去」演奏，當時的 Coltrane 其實已經留下了許多代表作也奠定了不可抹面的 Saxphone 聲響，然而對他來說這些還不夠，因此開啟了到 Impulse 探索與實驗的新境界
Pursuance 「追隨」是 A Love Supreme 專輯的第三部分，開場由鼓手 Elvin Jones 即興Solo 開場，用 Bb 小調性 做12 +12 小節的兩段樂句構成AA曲式來貫穿整曲，其中使用 C Eb F 、F Ab Bb 這六個音的上升動機去發展，在 Up Tempo Swing 節奏裡可注意三位樂手如何對話為此曲的聆聽重點，結尾由 Jimmy Garrison 即興去Solo 收尾，是整張專輯速度最快的曲子

1955 Members of the First Great Quintet who became trumpet giant Miles Davis recorded the legendary "Cookin', Relaxin', Workin', Steamin'"
In 1957 and Monk left the famous "At Carnegie Hall"
1958 and Miles left "Milestones" and "Kind of Blue" in Columbia, left "Blue Train" in Blue Note
1959 Left four revolutionary albums in Atlantic: "Giant Steps, Coltrane Jazz, My Favorite Things, Olé"
Before joining Impulse, Coltrane played in accordance with "the way jazz music should be". At that time, Coltrane had actually left behind many masterpieces and established an indelible Saxophone sound. However, these were not enough for him, so he started A new level of exploration and experimentation with Impulse
Pursuance "Follow" is the third part of the A Love Supreme album. It started with an impromptu solo by drummer Elvin Jones. It used Bb minor to make two phrases of 12 + 12 bars to form AA music form to run through the whole song, which used C Eb F, F Ab Bb to develop the rising motivation of the six notes. In the Up Tempo Swing rhythm, you can pay attention to how the three musicians talk to each other. This is the focus of listening to this song. In the end, Jimmy Garrison improvised to Solo ending, which is the fastest speed of the whole album.
