Devonte Wise Curren$y is getting older. He is taking it easy now and probably has enough money to retire from hip-hop. Don't be so hard on him. He has proved himself and his rap skills in previous albums and mixtapes. Also no human being is perfect. In my opinion , he is in the hip-hop hall of fame. He gave real hip hop fans great and REAL music to listen to when mainstream rap was giving trash to the radio. I started listening to curren$y in 2009. I was 14 and he was the first rapper i listened to consistently and kept up to date with. Still listen to him. True fans always have their rapper's back even when they don't perform their best. curren$y is not wack. He is a great guy and keeps it real!
Listen i used to fuck with spitta too, but I'd be lying if i said that he still raps the same. His style is too nonchalant now. His style was always laid back, but now it's waaaay back. Like he's not even trying anymore. Don't get me wrong Drive In Theater had some bangers on there, but his style has changed.
Yeah thats true about his style. It is very slow now and is a lot different than his older songs like "prioritize" probably that song was in his prime. It does seem like he overindulges in pot just by his looks and his style. From my perception though, curren$y seems like a down to earth dude and just trying to survive like the rest of us.
