Huh! Interesting. They're really leaning into the world-building. Kinda dig the way they open it like a DM opening up a campaign and laying out the setting.
With that opening, it really is kinda nice to see what Dundee looks like when it's not being destroyed by undead unicorns, chaos wizards, or an entire army of horrifying fecal zombies.

So, the clone setup by the OG Zargothrax showed up to an alternate reality of the OG Dundee (Medieval Times) and brought himself 800 kilotons of nuclear justice with him.
He probably screamed "Parry this you medieval paesant" before hurling a nuke at Angus.
If you watch with captions, the end when Proletius lifts up the armor it says "Do not want" and I just busted out laughing! Fantastic.

Far be it from me to question a dark lord, but it strikes me as... unwise to have your armory of nuclear ordinance right next to your extra life clones. It seems an enterprising rouge could take advantage of that.

As someone who got introduced to Gloryhammer by this song, I'm gonna say that it's a great introduction. Love how it creates the expectation of a medieval RPG metal song and then turns 180 into a freakin' scifi.
And since I was raised on Might & Magic games which mixed scifi and fantasy in a similar fashion, I am absolutely in love. Currently listening to the entire album for a 2nd day already, and diving into their other work. Why didn't I know about them before?!

Zargothrax was defeated by Angus XIII but before he died he awakened an Alpha-1 clone in the time of Angus II. So now we're back to right after the first album.
Correct. At the end of the previous album, a message was sent to the year 1022, from a different reality. The message to activate the clone.

I'm pretty sure Zargothrax could have conjured a spell to similar effect, but it was more amusing to just use a timed atom bomb instead and watch everyone's reactions to the countdown to annihilation. Facetanking the blast to him would be nothing as he's survived planetary destruction before.

Seems like we follow the same structure. Dundee is royally zargothraxed in the first song and through the album Angus [insert number here] gains power, artifacts and mighty warriors to get revenge in the last track. The only question is how Hootsman is going to save the day this time? (We already have Deus Ex Hootsman in the first album, detonation of nuclear heart in the second album and (literally) Deus ex Hootsman in the third album)

What I love about Gloryhammer is the songs are dumb as shit and yet still so inspiring they make me wanna take up arms and defend the kingdom
I like how all the citizens are identical since they only had the money for one extra.
He's their tech guy or something, been in other media too and probably does it for free :)
What strikes me as interesting is that this hammer, used pretty much exclusively by the "hero", is referred to as *Unholy* in its name, and at the same time, Zargothrax, who is undoubtedly Evil, wields the Celestial Flame. not an Unholy or Evil flame, a Celestial Flame. which you'd think would normally be wielded by a force for good.
The hero uses Unholy Frost, the Villain uses Celestial Fire. what a conundrum, huh?
Unironically Zarg did nothing wrong.

A few thoughts to ponder.....
1) Is the Silver Gun mentioned in Universe on Fire the same weapon as the Vorpal Laserblaster of Pittenweem?
2) Holy Flaming Hammer of Unholy Cosmic Frost makes the one-time Sozos portrays Angus I (as the character meets his demise after Zargothrax A-1 activates the floor nukes). And that also means that Sozos has been 3 different incarnations of Angus, Angus V in Fly Away and of course Angus II for the rest of this album.
3) Do we count the destruction of the Castle via the nukes as a defeat for the Knights of Crail? (At least Proletius didn’t die this time, unlike his evil alternate counterpart from Terrorvortex)
4) Zargothrax A-1 apparently knows the Multiform technique/shadow clone Jutsu.
5) At 4:27 Angus the 1st "Guess I'll die."
