GlueTread Sidewall Application Process:
Step 1: Prep the Surface. Thoroughly sand down around the damaged area
Step 2: Apply Adhesive to the Damaged Area Hold the damaged area back together. Allow 1 minute to cure. Re-sand to remove excess adhesive.
Step 3: Measure Patch and Trace on Tire Cover at least ½ inch around the damaged area. (more edge is better)
Step 4: Apply Adhesive IMPORTANT: Follow the adhesive pattern instructions and use tiny dots of adhesive in a grid like patterns. Immediately and carefully set patch in place. Apply pressure evenly for one minute. Ensure edges and corners are fully adhered.
Step 5: With our improved rubber formula you no longer need the accelerator. Wait 10 minutes for the patch to fully cure. Inflate & ride!
Extra Notes:
CHECK YOUR ADHESIVE before you ride! If you have dried out adhesive, send us an email and we will send you new adhesive for free.
Storing the GlueTread accelerator next to the adhesive makes the adhesive dry out more quickly. We updated our rubber formula and not the rubber only takes 5-10 minutes to cure. This eliminates the need for the accelerator. You can remove the accelerator from your kit. This will extend the life of your adhesive.
