I bought this soundbar recently to upgrade the sound on my 43” Samsung Frame TV. It’s not going to be pounding your room, or thumping the bass everywhere, but the sound is just so nice and balanced. I’d usually always prefer more bass than anything else but this is perfectly balanced. I’ve put mine with the speech enhancement on, and it’s a huge improvement on the standard TV speakers, despite the TV speakers and the soundbar being the same Wattage. For the price I’m really pleased with it, especially as I was after a soundbar that didn’t have a screen display as I wanted something discreet and the fabric finish is really nice too.
nice review, i bought it a month ago and i have to say it is very good for a person like me(student). i also love the fact that it doesn't make a sound when you connect to it, less unwanted noises.
This is fantastic! Thank you, you've answered every question I had about my gift. It's a solid little soundbar to come off the TV speaker experience. Excellent value for a better TV experience. So refreshing to have a unbiased and well articulated review, thanks man!
You've answered so many of my questions. I just got this and it was a deal but it doesn't have a lot of features that I'm used to. I'm trying to bear with this product.
There are caveats to the caveats here: About the subwoofer thing, any speaker may have kind of subwoofer behaviour. It's just the grade of the speaker. The only caveat here is that two speakers are just taking the stereo HiFi sound which already contains the low frequecny information instead of using the 2.1 channels which specifically separate the sound into a dedicated subwoofer. In this case, usually the speakers have more than two membranes, some for the high freqs some for the low freqs and some filtering system to redirect the frequencies to the right membranes. Of course that subwoofering has to be weak, given the dimensions of the soundbar. About the surrounding, you are right. It's impossible to create the illusion of the sound surrounding you with 2 speakers. But, it may be argued that they create surround sound (pseudo) with 2 speakers with a technique called psycho-acoustic sound localization, mainly for headphones, which probably is impossible to be applied to this soundbar.
Has anyone figured out how to adjust the Channel Levels (the volume of the individual speakers)? The instructions are horrible. When you press the CH Level button, the voice says "center channel" but I can't find a way to adjust the level of the center channel or select the other speakers.
Hi I'm.using the optical code connected into a DAC converter using it threw headphone jack but not.getting no sound threw becayd my TV isent a smart tv and dosent have a optical code in back of it can u help please
Hey in your case try something like the UGREEN Bluetooth 5.2 Transmitter For TV, Dual Pair Wireless Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver. This may work for you.
Have received my sound bar Samsung B-Series HW-C410. It does not support wifi, so therefore it cannot be connected to the Smart Things network. I am surprised by the great sound, there is plenty of bass in it, so I don't miss a subwoofer. Very satisfied with this soundbar. It has many functions which are operated via the remote control. Therefore, it requires that these functions are read carefully and preferably repeatedly. Surround Sound works well with music and movies, and provides a nice sound image. But remember that it cannot provide true surround sound, but only improvement of the sound image.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Samsung B-Series HW-C410! It's great to hear that you're enjoying the sound quality and that the bass meets your expectations.
i’m thinking of buying this to connect to my projector. however the feedback about the bluetooth feature is making me worried. i’d have to have the projector next to the sound bar to connect using a cable
I wanted a soundbar to pair with my projector. You said there's issues with connectivity and lip syncing issues so is there any other sound bar you would recommend with a good blutooth connection? Thanks for the review!
Actually I still recommend this one for you, yes I'm not a fan of bluetooth connection when using with video but the issues I stated in the video are worse case senerio and they do tend to happen from time to time (thats with any soundbar/bluetooth device) but they can be easily fixed. (reconnecting, reboot etc). I like using cable connections because they provide a more dependable connection. Hope that helps.
At the 1:32 time stamp I'm referring to the actual port, I labeled it as well. @2:32 I'm referring to the optical cable that didn't come with my unit also labeled at bottom of screen
Just ordered a Samsung B-Series HW-C410. We do not have the C400 model in Denmark. To be used in connection with music and youtube movie videos that I watch on my computer. Remember that you can download firmware updates for USB stick for this model C400. Wondering if it works with Samsung Smartthings?
That's awesome! The HW-C410 is a great choice for music and movies. As for SmartThings, it should be compatible, but make sure to check the latest updates for full functionality.
@@davebanter There is a firmware update at samsung support, C400 and C410 use the same firmware, so they are totally the same. I put it on my USB dongle. Getting my soundbar on Tuesday.
Sound bar remote I can’t seem to adjust the standard to the surround sound volume button works fine. Find it annoying as I can only switch standard to surround with my Samsung TV remote and not the sound bar remote. Any one have any ideas and how to get this to work?
To change the volume and bass level, you need to press the up and down buttons with your fingernail. I searched for four hours and could not find this information!!!
Hi, How can I take advantage of Dolby audio if what you recommend is not to connect the soundbar via Bluetooth, considering that Dolby technology does not work via optical cable?
Hey, so the Dolby 2ch/DTS 2ch extracts, decodes, downmixes, and converts digital multi-channel bitstreams to two-channel signals, thats this soundbar (L,R). So your optical cable will support that.
@@davebanter Oh, sure, I understand, thanks for responding. But I was wrong because I thought we were talking about Dolby Atmos, so this sound bar does not fit into the game, I am looking for a sound bar with Dolby Atmos but not so expensive, great video btw!!
@@davebanter Unfortunately they don't sell that sound bar in my country, but I've been thinking about buying the Samsung HW-Q600C, which is actually from this year, it's currently on sale for around 250 USD
I bought the Samsung TV and this sound bar as a matching pair. First thing I did on both of them is fully update them. The TV only has eARC as an audio output and this sound bar has no HDMI input. So I was kinda forced to connect them together through Bluetooth or Samsung connect I think is what they call it. So far I haven't ran into any lip sync issues yet. Id say the biggest con with this sound bar is the controls. It tells you your settings through voice. The toggle method is ridiculous. Some settings can be changed in the TV settings but not much.
@@davebanter that's my actual problem, after some time of listening to some music and i'd idle for around 3-5mins, it'll auto disconnect and you have to reconnect it again manually.

Well technically simplified, bluetooth is compressed sound, optical there is no compression. You may not ntlotice a huge difference unless the BT has lip sync issues
The hole in the back is called a port. The device is marketed as having a woofer, not a subwoofer. That's why it's 2.0 and not 2.1. you did not tell us how it sounds. We cannot tell through a UA-cam video. How are the highs? How are the mids? How's the bass?
Thanks for your insights! The port really does play a crucial role in sound quality. As for the audio, I found the highs to be clear, the mids well-balanced, and the bass punchy for a 2.0 system.
The Sound Bar is Superb, but the extremely High Voice Guide (by Default) just blows you away, and with this weirdly designed remote, the too-loud Voice Guide can only be adjusted through trial and error each time I turn on the sound bar! Because of the annoyingly loud Voice Guide, I listen less and less to my soundbar!
I regret buying this. I didn't know it didn't have the eARC HDMI port, so you have to use two remote controls. Second, bass is virtually non-existent. I couldn't return it since I threw away the box. So I'm using it on my PC via bluetooth connection. So far, no sync issue and it powers right up whenever I turn on the PC. Another low point is its cryptic features and the built-in voice that comes on when you change settings is not only robotic but way too loud.
In my personal test with movies it sound good, I don't get into too many sound test because there is no way for people to truly hear the quality via UA-cam video.
