    I ate an egg sando every day for 2 weeks during my visit to Japan. It was an addictive and satisfying late-night snack to accompany drinks. I did the taste test of all 3 conbini egg sandos, and personally, my favorite was Family Mart. It had a creamier texture and stronger flavor which paired well with satsuma tangerine beer (another Japanese favorite!)

      Thanks for sharing! If I were eating it with a beer (or chuhai), I'd definitely go with Family Marts.

    Marc, this is fantastic! I have always wanted to see all three competitors' sandwiches together, and hear a review. Even more, I want to see your recipe next week! Really looking forward to it. Thanks for brightening my day. 😃

      Hi Erin, so glad to hear it was able to brighten your day☀️😀 As I was doing research for my egg salad sandwich recipe, I noticed no one had done a 3 store taste test yet, so I thought I'd step in and fill the gap😆

    More videos like this would be great. I miss the food from every place we visited, including the convenience stores. Katsu sandos next, maybe?

    My heart will always be with the Lawson tamago sando. Drunk weekends in Shinjuku and stumbling into Lawson to grab a Pocari Sweat and the sando.

      Good call on the Lawson sandwich! 😆 Can't say I've ever enjoyed Pocari Sweat though.

      @@NoRecipes Ever think of making a vid of them?

    • @NoRecipes
      @NoRecipes  5 років тому +1

      @@nickstoli Hi Jay, that's a cool idea, but filming them would take my attention away from the tour I'm giving, plus it might make the people on the tour uncomfortable. If I do make videos of food tours it would have to be specifically for the video.

    On visual inspection alone, 7-11 already wins :)

      Hahahah yea, it has the most egg by far, but it's also the most expensive.

    Fun video! Can't wait to make my own taste tests of 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, and Lawson food items. Until then, can you tests oden, umeboshi onigiri and their tonkatsu sando or bowls?

    • @NoRecipes
      @NoRecipes  5 років тому

      Thanks Tess! Are you visiting Japan soon? Love the idea of comparing oden, but I'll have to wait until it's back in season this fall. Also, great call on onigiri.

    I love the specificity - 1.3 cm vs 1 cm of bread. Amazing! 😇I can’t wait for the progress and future success of your channel. I can totally 100% see you with your own cooking show (I was surprised you didn’t have one already haha).

    サンドイッチに関していえばファミマが一番美味しいイメージだが、たまごサンドはセブンイレブンが好きですね。いつもお皿に大量の黒胡椒とチューブのカラシ(塩気あり)を用意してたまごサラダに追加して食べます。

      They add onion to theirs and a lot more salt and there's less egg than 7-Eleven. Not my cup of tea, but I'm glad you found one you like.
