      Ya. I believe he is a high quality guy. Honest and realistic. He also is young and inexperienced but he is getting that fast. All coaches say it's VERY difficult to win in the NFL. I sure believe that. There is no secret easy way. Hard work, talent and good breaks. When players get the chance to make a play they need to make that play. Either a catch, block, tackle, or pressure. Every other team is good. Some a little better than others but only a little. Every team is beatable every week. I don't know how long it has been since we controlled the line of scrimmage. Either side of it.

      I believe he's gonna strip this team at the end of the year due to their low performance. His interviews are quiet because he doesn't want to sugar coat anything. He is telling the players you must be proficient at the basics before I give you the freedom to have the full defensive scheme. They for whatever reasons are failing to meet this prerequisite and I think he's had enough of it. I feel he is a lot like Dan Campbell. His interviews 3 years ago were very much the same, and now they are phenomenal. But there was 3 years of growing pains for them. Go Mike. Go Hawks!

      Yes! As I said elsewhere, you can't have a construction site without a mess. I mean, considering what last year was like, I guess we should expect this. I am glad that people are being exposed. Last year I think part of the problem was some people were not doing their jobs, so others were stretching like trying to bandaid the exposed spots. So, those people need to go (the ones not doing their job)!
      Glad to see you guys stick with Mike! It's ridiculous to expect perfection so early, although it sure is hard to watch. Go coach Mike, go Geno, and Go Hawks!!!

    Macdonald would never say this because he's not that type of coach or person, but I really don't think he has the players he needs right now. I know he mentioned the team being tough as one of the bright spots of the season, but I see little to no evidence of that in games. I think we need to flush out a lot of Schneider's picks this offseason, and maybe even some that might be head-turners, but otherwise we're just going to continue to be mired in mediocrity, if not worse.

    Coach Mike just said, “I think our offensive line is improving.” I was at the game yesterday & our offensive line is a sieve!!! They provide no time for Geno or our backs. The Bills constantly had 2 defenders in our backfield by the time Geno was handing the ball off. The problems they revealed will not be solved soon. 1) They provide no defensive contain or speed pursuit on the edges. 2) The linebackers are LOST! They stand around, watching the play. They’re late to cover & give up too much ground before contact. It was like watching 11 on 8. 3) They are undisciplined, committing stupid penalties. There were more penalties in that game than in any other game in the league so far this season. The Seahawks are wasting supremely talented, skilled players because they continually fail to assemble a competitive O-line & the players have no grasp of the intended defensive concepts. Get used to this for the rest of the season, especially since the coach thinks that the O-line is improving. What’s his perspective? Maybe, if he had to pay for a ticket, parking & concessions his standard would change!

    Mike needs to get this team under control. He needs to make the players want to play for him. Make players give 110% effort at all time. Make players want to win whatever it takes. All those things are lacking in Seahawks players. Like look at 49ers team. The majority of players on Niners team want to play for their coach and want to win. Purdy to Kittles to Bosa….They all give 110% when they’re out on the field…and it shows… You don’t see that with majority of Seahawks players and that’s on the coaches.

    If the Seahawks have a mid offensive line, would a more mobile quarterback suit that situation? If they aren't able to keep a pocket for Geno Smith to throw in, maybe he has to run and throw on the run more often? Keeping the defense guessing, opens up both the run and pass game. If age and contracts get in the way, then maybe Sam Howell with his hunger and confidence can lead this team?

    That establishing B-roll shot is cathartic because yesterday's game felt like laying in a puddle when you want to be staring at a flag. Perhaps it's ironic because the last game that felt like that was getting absolutely stomped by MM's old defense - the Ravens - last year... then add a ton more self-inclicted wounds and 1/10th the discipline.
    I'm glad to see the coach is steady after that loss, I still have a ton of faith in him. And for the DK haters, there was a palpable missing presence out there for Geno, though there were some good plays by Lockett, JSN, Barner, Fant, etc. But even when he isn't targeted, Dk takes a top off the D, those other guys are more open.
    Still can't stop the run, or establish it, and that's one painful puddle to be laying in.

    The margin of error is tiny for the seahawks because the defense isn't good, the oline isn't good, and while the offense can be decent at times overall, it's not the right kind of decent to really dominate vs good teams.
    It's not really fair to be so harsh on Mike Macdonald or John Schneider yet because this is the first year the team is fully out from under Pete Carroll and there are still lingering issues from the teams he wanted to build.
    I think Ernest Jones will get more familiarized with the defense over time and become a nice little centerpiece/captain for the defense. Byron Murphy has shown a lot of good things on tape and if he keeps growing he'll be a nice force on the DLine... Leonard Williams flashes brilliance but long term I don't know if he was worth the price. Dre'Mont jones was a desperation move back under PC and isn't really worth the money.
    I hope DK plays well this year and gets significant trade inquiries and we can trade him high... people might appreciate his talent but he isn't the long term direction for the team, and WRs are in high supply in drafts.
    Our defense doesn't tackle right, a lot of it is because of Pete's desire for leaner faster players, but players like that can't really assert their will on big tough RBs or THICC WRs or TEs. Lockett and JSN are talented, but they don't really contribute to any sort of physicality... so we need to get some really tough TEs and WRs... DK was supposed to be that guy, and he can make some decent plays, but he doesn't actually play up to his size as far as how difficult he is to bring down. He doesn't intimidate defensive backs with his size, if anything they seem to antagonize him and get in his head too easily.
    A lot of fans don't see it, but we had a lot of lingering issues starting with Pete Carroll deciding to coddle Wilson in 2014 and undermining the entire culture built up the previous few years. Once it became Wilson's team we had a soft sensitive diva culture that permeated into players like DK, Diggs, Adams, and then into players like Woolen... we've moved on from some of those players, but we still need to trim the fat for a better longterm outlook. Even Luke Willson said it when he came back to play for the team, that the culture was completely different, people were sitting around laughing about mistakes they made, it wasn't that hardnosed culture that competed for chips, so Willson decided to retire the next day after seeing that.
    Ernest Jones, Murphy, Reed, Love, are the right kind of defensive pieces to build around.
    On offense we don't really have anyone that plays with nastiness aside from charbonnet.

    A PNW downpour is like a normal rainy day in the Midwest. A real downpour, like ones seen outside of the PNW, will cause a game stoppage.
    For a comparison, last time I checked the statistics, Seattle gets a little less than 40 inches of rain a year (slightly lower than the national average, btw). Wichita, KS gets 34 inches a year. But Wichita has 300 days of sunshine! That means they pack 34 inches of rain into 56 days. When it rains for a few hours in Wichita, cars float out of intersections, and roads become impassable. I grew up in King County. The first time I saw a real Midwest rain, I was in awe and shock.

    Had such hi-hopes with all the hype preseason. Silly me, I know.. You say we have the talent, but they are not jelling, doesn't look like they will put it all on the line for a teammate. Tackling looks confusing, O-line can't open a hole for RB, RB's need to pick up their head and Look, if its not there don't try to fit, look around. DK (when healthy) needs to use the speed straight down the field - catch - TD. If missed, he comes off for a pay or two to recoup. Locket, and other receivers need the 10yd quick passes. (10 yd at a time, march down the field) Defense coverage looks "off" or out of place. Whom ever is calling pays, needs to rethink what they are doing. just my 0.02 worth, easier typed than done.. I know.

      Hang in there. It is a mess, takes time to sort it all out. It's like we're in the washing machine and the agitator is going 😵‍💫 From that point of view we just can't see or imagine what's happening. Lemme throw in too that Lockett is a specialty guy. They knew exactly how to defend him, which was unique actually. But he's a guy who gets yards. Someone else was complaining about him falling down. That's how he catches balls. Geno throws low to TLock on purpose, because that's very hard to defend. He can run for TD's, but generally he's catching impossible balls, and falling to do it. It's not a fault; it's a technique👍
      Anyway, it will be ugly for a bit. Can't be avoided, because people aren't perfect. But this team is going through fire and the sludge is separating itself. Go Hawks! It's going to get better, eventually 👍👍👍

    I really want to see spoon & riq playing more tight man coverage. Seattle also needs to see if Olu can beat out Tomlinson, Bradford or Haynes for snaps at G. Hopefully Lucas returns, if that happens and our offense can stay on the field for atleast 50% of the time this defense will be alot better. Im also less worried about the lbs than most... we just moved dodson & threw Jones in expecting him to pick the defense up in a week. This defense also needs to start blitzing a little more, we are getting pressure but alot of the time qbs have an eternity to throw the ball.

      The players didn't respond to pete either. People seem to forget that this is what our team looked like for years before Macdonald. You can blame Grubb all you like, but his offensive plays are by far the most creative we've had for years, and that's something we need. We quite literally have the worst O-line in the NFL, or very close to it. Hard to run any offensive play when it's blown up within seconds.

    • @josephhennessy9785
      @josephhennessy9785 3 дні тому +1

      We are playing from behind 90% of the time. In the NFL if you don't have a line it really doesn't matter how good your RBs are. Running the ball more is not going to fix the problems. With that said, Grubb is not calling a good game, he's playing the college game.

  • @chrissnape9537
    @chrissnape9537 3 дні тому

    We do have to run earlier in the game. More importantly we need to run the ball more effectively. K9 has at least 1 man to beat before he gets near the line of scrimmage. It all goes back to John Schneider Quote in the early summer. "Guards are over paid and overrated. The only reason we (can) do well passing the ball, passing the ball, is Geno moves well in the pocket. Geno has as strong arm, top five. His accuracy is close to number one in the league.
    Geno has above average receivers across the board including K9 and Charbonett. I am feeling that AJ Barner could become a pretty good TE. As is i think we should throw him the ball more often.
    Defense will take more words than anyone wants to read. Happy to hear Ernest Jones 1v was in on 14 tackles. We have the talent on defense, but are offense is not controlling the ball enough which greatly helps. For anybody who doesn't know if your not going forward defense takes more energy than offense.

When he gets to make choices for who he wants at QB who will it be? There is a young dude still in college who will it be? The fact is you can't just trade for someone else's franchise QB. LA and Detroit traded two all stars, Denver made out the best this year. Look at Houston, Washington, SF all drafted a guy others might have overlooked. Chicago just watched the guy they passed over throw a hail Mary on them.

    I want Mike. I will ride with him to the wheels fall off. He understands our weaknesses and he's willing to build them with different possibilities and direction his way. He was the defensive coordinator on the ravens so trust and believe he loves violence, That's why we got another edition on defense. Ernest jones. Mike is a fighter but we have multiple issues which we will fix. I have to also take in consideration that LOB wasn't developed overnight. It took years for that evolution to erupt. The players from that defense came collectively, No one came at the same time. It took time for Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse to be dual threat wide receivers. I just need us to get our offense in check to where we can put up big numbers against tougher teams in the NFC. That cones with the OL situation, Our wr's need to work on better routes and route running also between Geno Smith vs Sam Howell that war needs to stop. I been over that since we lost to the 9ers. Cause Sam wouldn't be able to do anything differently than Geno with how much he's getting pressured. He's also leading the league in yards while getting pressured but I get it people care about wins more than stats. I do too but we ain't got that kinda time to be pointing fingers when our wr's surprisingly aren't THAT good. I'll be honest. Dk is probably our risk taker. Top that all off our OLine are just blowing it all away. So it's not Genos fault. Imagine what he'd do if our oline was solid and lockett and jsn were better at running routes (forget speed). We'd be undefeated. I'm just saying. Sam Howell maybe a better QB than Geno who knows? But with that Oline looking terrible and throwing the ball over my QB's head, While not paying attention where their going on the field (stepped on Genos foot yall know what I'm talking about). Me personally I'm giving Geno a chance to show me wassup. I'm banking on Geno. Even though I was pissed off vs 49ers. I watched the game over again and woke up. There's not a QB in the league that could change this scenario involving the OLine we have. God forbid one more gets hurt. I really think we as a unit have to give our coaches and this team more time. We have the pieces but we need a tweak or 2. It'll come together and I trust Mike. #GoHawks
