Thank you so much for these very easy to follow videos. I will continue watching as this is something I have been trying to master for years. My dream is to leave a legacy to my daughters of a set of place mats and napkins. You have not yet mentioned "traveling" which is my nemesis. I am quite certain you will address it in one of the videos. Thanks again. You are very enjoyable to listen to.
+Rosemary Sayers Thank you Rosemary for your lovely comment! I'm not sure what you mean by traveling, do you mean taking my embroidery with me when I travel or do you mean traveling with the thread (moving thread from one area to another in the stitched piece)? Thank you again, I'm so glad you found these helpful.
Hi Stitching with a Smile. There is no audio on your Hardanger Embroidery Lessons, the ones that are the beginning tutorials. Is there a reason? i've tired clearing my cache, restarting my computer, resetting youtube settings and trying different bowsers, (I.E.). What a great tutorial, too bad i cant hear it. :( Its a great post anyway and thank you for not taking it down.
Hi. I'm not sure why you're not getting any sound. I have sound on my end. I really wish I could help, but by computer skills aren't great and I don't have any tips for you. I'm so sorry. Thank you for your nice comment though, I hope you find the sound :)
Thank you for your reply. My computer is weird. Its a great post anyway. I use it to teach my friends how to do hardanger. Its an effective teaching tool even without the sound and there's closed caption if we get confused. Thanks Ninna. Your a gifted teacher.
I downloaded a couple of Mable Figworthy's designs and bought fabric and a kit from Nordic Needle. I will definitely be trying hardanger in the future.
+Palette PC That's great! Looking forward to watching your videos for hardanger projects. Good luck and please feel free to ask questions if need be. Nina
Hahaha. I guess I didn't make myself very clear did I! I meant traveling from one area of the piece to another. I often find myself trapped in a completed are and don't know whether I should travel With the thread or start a new thread in a totally different area. Thanks for your response.
+Rosemary Sayers Ok, that makes sense! In hardanger I'm very careful about traveling the thread due to the openwork (whether cutting or other openwork like eyelets). So if in doubt I end the thread and start a new one more often than not. Hope this helps!
EXCELLENT!!!!!!! I am really learning Hardinger. I sure hope I find part 5 and beyond. Thank you for sharing your method and tips.
Your teaching is to well done and nurturing that it is very easy to ignore the technical problems! Thank you so much!
One more time, I love your videos. You are a very good teacher and your explanations are very clear. Thanks a lot.
+Raescou Thanks again!

The symmetry in the pattern must help you spot mistakes as well. So far it's simpler than I expected - on to the next video.
+Palette PC You're right, it really is simpler than it looks. But it produces such a lovely piece! I hope you give it a try.
